fuboTV Canada ready to stream Premier League beginning August 2022

FuboTV, the popular streaming service throughout Canada, already has a large footprint with exclusive rights to some of the top soccer leagues in the world. Beginning August 2022, it’s adding arguably the biggest and best of them all. The English Premier League will be exclusively available in Canada. Goodbye DAZN. Hello fubo.

With fuboTV continuing to add more leagues and channels in Canada, here’s the latest availability.

To learn more about fuboTV Canada’s plans, we interviewed Vanessa Morbi, vice president of marketing at fuboTV.

Interview with fuboTV Canada about its soccer coverage:

Christopher: What’s your vision for the future of fuboTV in Canada?

Vanessa Morbi: Our goal is to bring Canadians a robust platform of sports and entertainment content.

We offer a compelling combination of content including exclusive rights for some of the top soccer content in the world.

Christopher: Who do you see as your chief competitors in Canada?

Vanessa: We would call traditional pay TV and other streaming services our peers in the market although fubo is really a differentiated offering from those. We offer exclusive soccer rights (EPL, Serie A, Coppa Italia, etc) and other non-exclusive sports that Canadians want (CPL, national team) plus entertainment (Yellowstone via Paramount Network).

We are offering Canadians high value soccer and entertainment content at a very competitive price point. We believe that the market will respond very positively to the product and offering overall.

Christopher: In addition to the current Serie A rights, and then the Premier League rights starting this summer, what other soccer leagues or competitions does fuboTV have the rights to in Canada?

Vanessa: fuboTV has the Canadian-exclusive broadcasting rights to the Italian Serie A and Coppa Italia, as well as the Canadian-exclusive broadcasting rights for the Liga MX home matches of Club Deportivo Guadalajara (Chivas).

Through broadcasting partners OneSoccer and beIN Sports, fuboTV Canada subscribers can watch the Canadian Premier League, Ligue 1, Canadian National Men’s Soccer team games, Conmebol Libertadores, Turkish SuperLig, and more. As well, we recently added BenficaTV to the Canadian platform, so subscribers can watch Benfica home matches, preseason friendlies, and more.

Christopher: How does the adoption rate of Canadians subscribing to streaming in Canada compare to Americans in the United States?

Vanessa: The American market for streaming products is more mature, but still growing, in the US. For Canada it’s a really exciting time because it’s still very much in a growth phase.

Christopher: What other content does fuboTV have that would appeal to sports fans in Canada?

Vanessa: We have the Paramount Network which is home to one of the hottest shows, Yellowstone, as well as CBC. In the next month or so we will have exciting news to share about even more content for Canadians.

Christopher: Will fuboTV continue to carry CBC Radio-Canada? If so, how is the channel displayed within the app (as audio only or with video?)

Vanessa: fuboTV Canada will continue to carry CBC/Radio-Canada. The channels are displayed within the app as any other linear broadcast channel.

For context, the CBC’s official branded name is CBC/Radio-Canada, encompassing the English and French digital, video, radio, and television content that is produced by the Canadian Broadcast Company (widely referred to as CBC). That being said, fuboTV carries the broadcast channels, which are CBC and ICI Radio-Canada Tele. ICI Radio-Canada Tele is the French-language broadcasting channel, not a radio station, so it will always have video components. Thus, all CBC content displays and can be viewed like any other linear channel offered on fuboTV.

i cannot believe the EPL has allowed FUBO to put out this pos product in Canada with no premier league pre, half time or post game shows. like watching a ten dollar u.s college game. They have ruined an amazing fan experience. time to cancel and jump on the vpn.

I’m worried that all the good Premier league banter stuff like Kelly and Wrighty and Weekend Warmup shows will not be shown and games will start and end at the whistle with no pre match and post match commentary all from the premier league broadcast services. Matchday live where you could watch a game and they would cut to the other games when point of interest occur,

I hate streaming services when its just the game. no context or atmosphere.

Not happy about this. Dazn wasn’t perfect but at least it was comprehensive.

And early impression of the app are poor with auto play just starts streaming,

Also looks risky for spoilers if you want to watch highlights package or re runs etc.

    Worried!

Agree. DAZN was a great package. Now we will have to rely on YouTube to see any kind of pre-game or post-game coverage. I will miss the banter on the weekend review show and the Friday prediction shows. DAZN should have never given up on this programming.

Absolute s*** coverage. In addition to cutting out pre-game coverage, half time commentary, the “Live” coverage runs many minutes behind, which you can follow from the Premier League web pages. TOO MANY F’ING COMMERCIALS, and worse than regular cable tv. If they really want to be a true streaming service they need to up their game. I subscribed for 1 month to check it out, and glad since I will not be committing to a full year as I did with DAZN (which had excellent and comprehensive coverage). After this month I’m done. FUBO needs to re-think their model.

WTF is this—no pregame, no half time, no post-game, and none of the cool DAZN abilities for highlight reels or match day simultaneous game highlights and a pitiful selection of the other sports or leagues I watch. I was not a DAZN fan originally, but they really improved their EPL product and it was well worth the streaming price. Fubo also has an extremely glitchy feed with buffering and lags. Canada is being fed a massively inferior EPL product for the same price as DAZN and a mere fraction of the high level futbol still available on DAZN. I prepaid DAZN for the year and am fine with that because of all the other sports I watch on that app. But I’ll only do fubo for this first month until I can find any other option for EPL games.

It seems the Soccer offering of Fubo Canada is stronger than Fubo in the US, despite a lower price.

    FuboTV Canada has :

    Premier League

    Serie A

Bein Sports: Offering League 1 (France), Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana from South America, Africa Champions League

OneSoccer: Liga MX, All the National (Canada) team games, Canada Premier League

    Benfica Games

And DAZN Canada now are ripping off soccer fans, they’re now charging 25 C$ + Sales Tax and they only have Champions League and Europa League ! (plus the leftover matches from MLS – TV providers keep the Canadian team games + the best games for themselves).

If I purchase fuboTV from fuboTV Canada, would I be able to watch it on my ROKU Premiere?
If yes what do I do to ensure that I can and would there be any extra fees to do that?

Are you going to carry the original feed from England with English commentators or using your own from the US. I will definitely NOT going to subscribe if it’s the latter. Hated them keep calling it soccer and they don’t even know how to pronounce the players’ names correctly.

    • Christopher Harris

      June 29, 2022 at 7:25 am

It’ll be the world feed from England.

Can you watch ANY/ALL premier game live like DAZN is now? Or only what is selected by the other broadcasters (NBC, BeIN)? I’m a supporter of a smaller club – not that interested in just the big 6.

    • Christopher Harris

      June 25, 2022 at 9:00 am

If you live in Canada, you’ll be able to watch every Premier League game through fuboTV beginning August 2022.

fuvo is absolute the worst app ever, not available app on all tv’s , always buffering and issues with streaming Seria A games . absolutely pathetic..no world cup games,no CL games, no Uefa Euro games.Pure crap,if it wasnt for Seria A never ever gonna subsribe to that useless streaming option

Interesting to see that they have already hiked the price even when their premier league coverage only starts in August.

They will probably push the quarterly /yearly options soon, as in June and July there s no major soccer content (from their current rights)

There is no free trial when you click the link or on the site for Canada as yet.

Still have to subscribe to DAZN for champions league. I think I’m just going to start using Reddit streams

Horrible situation for soccer fans in Canada! Don’t know what DAZN cost, but sure FuboTV is probably 5 times more. Forcing EPL and Serie A fans into a cable like bundle via Fubo to watch

This is not progress, in some ways worse than cable because you can’t even choose a competitor, ONLY FuboTV has it.

Thank goodness this sort of thing is confined to CONMEBOL here in the US.

      April 12, 2022 at 12:30 pm

Fubo Canada is the same price as DAZN Canada – $20 CAD per month.

        April 12, 2022 at 1:22 pm

Aha! That changes everything. Fubo in Canada must not be as robust in terms of the amount of channels included as our version then if it’s one third the cost. Maybe similar to how Fubo was here in the beginning.

          April 12, 2022 at 10:45 pm

fubotv Canada has about 10 channels only. Plus stand alone feeds for Serie A and soon PL.

It was $99/yr last yr but post PL announcement, it has gone up to $150/yr. But PL is the most watched football league in Canada & Serie A is likely fourth most watched.

The OneSoccer channel that carries all Canada national team matches and Concacaf events is $100 if you subscribe to its service separately. So, for now, fubotv’s pricing is the best value amongst sports streamers in Canada.

We’ll find out this summer. Last time I checked, fuboTV Canada was $20 CAD per month.
