World Cup tickets on sale and in high demand

World Cup tickets

Qatar 2022 still has World Cup tickets available. However, as the tournament inches closer, patrons snap up more each day.

To be fair, there are a number of great games to keep an eye on in the Group stage alone. Plus, the proximity of the Qatar World Cup means that neutral fans have easier access to games. In fact, part of the selling point for the Qatar World Cup came from the fact that fans could actually see two games in one day. After all, the farthest two stadiums are under an hour drive from one another, but that number will rise with World Cup traffic.

Another number on the rise is the ticket count sold already. On June 22, organizers of the FIFA World Cup announced the World Cup sold 1.2 million tickets. On top of that, there were 23.5 million requests for tickets. The most popular nations to request tickets were Argentina, Brazil, England, France, Mexico, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United States.

The most recent ticket allotment came in a random selection draw. Limited World Cup tickets are available. Through FIFA, the next phase of ticket sales will be on a first come first serve basis at a too to be determined date. Yet, FIFA did not announce what games have tickets available. If anything, it adds to the intrigue.

Thankfully, World Cup tickets are available to buy without having to wait.

In total, there will be 2 million tickets sold to fans for the World Cup in Qatar. A further 1 million tickets are devoted to FIFA officials and World Cup sponsors.

World Cup tickets – Best of the Group Stage

As stated, there are still tickets available. However, expect these to be on the market for next to no time at all. Clearly, there are fans hungry for tickets, and many failed to get their hands on them.

If you plan on attending the World Cup in Qatar, here are some ideal tickets to look out for.

No. 5: Ghana vs Uruguay tickets (Dec. 2)

Last time, and the only time, these two teams played, Luis Suarez produced one of the most controversial and memorable moments in the recent history of the World Cup. His handball prevented a sure goal, and Ghana missed a penalty in extra time that would have punched its ticket to the semifinals of the 2010 World Cup.

African countries are some of the most exciting and fun at each World Cup, and South American nations are not exactly pushovers when it comes to overall experience.

This fixture is part of the last day of Group stage games, and could very well be the most memorable one. If you are a neutral seeking out a World Cup classic, tickets to Ghana vs Uruguay could have drama written all over it.

No. 4: England vs United States tickets (Nov. 25)

In terms of World Cup tickets, this is certainly a hot commodity. Featuring two nations that rank towards the top in ticket requests, this has something of a rivalry feel.

England is surely the favorite to win both the game and Group B. However, the Americans want this to be a proving ground that they can hang with the best. Also, the fans in attendance will want to show some form of superiority over their rivals.

These England-USA tickets are available, but they’re the hottest ticket right now.

No. 3: Portugal vs Uruguay tickets (Nov. 28)

This is a rematch of the 2018 World Cup round of 16, when Uruguay advanced by winning 2-1. Cristiano Ronaldo is always a draw, especially considering this could be the Portuguese Magnifico’s final World Cup appearance.

These are two passionate fan bases with expectations of success. Moreover, many of the players have experience going head-to-head with one another on the club scene. The Portugal-Uruguay tickets are surely one to be on the lookout for.

No. 2: Croatia vs Belgium tickets (Dec. 1)

The teams that finished second and third, respectively, at the World Cup in 2018 have little margin to improve. Each nation’s success in Russia four years ago was the best finish in their history.

Yet, both sides are hungry for more. Croatia would be hard-pressed to match what it accomplished in 2018. But, with Luka Modric slinging passes across the field, it is not out of the realm of possibility. Same goes for Belgium’s Kevin de Bruyne. The Manchester City players is perhaps the best midfielder in the Premier League and Europe at large. Their duel is one of the best player-on-player matchups in the entire tournament, let alone the Group stage.

In short, tickets to Croatia-Belgium is one not to miss.

No. 1: Spain vs Germany tickets (Nov. 27)

It would be remarkable if there were World Cup tickets still available for this game. It is, indisputably, the highlight of the Group stage. A pair of recent World Cup winners that went out in disappointing fashion four years ago battle in the Group stage.

Both nations have passionate fan bases that always travel well during the World Cup. The talent on the field speaks for itself, with Europe’s best players dotted around the pitch on both sides.

In conclusion, tickets to Spain-Germany come in the middle of the Group stage, and will be the most-anticipated fixture entering the World Cup.
