ESPN+ is raising its price on August 23 to $9.99 per month. But before the new rate kicks in, now is the time for smart shoppers to avoid the increase. This is your last chance to get ESPN+’s annual plan and save $30.
If you watch a lot of sports, consider locking in the current rate for the annual plan before the price goes up. Or upgrade to the Disney Bundle for more cost savings across ESPN+, Hulu and Disney+.

Currently subscribing to ESPN+ on a monthly basis?
When you upgrade your ESPN+ subscription from the monthly to annual plan, you’ll get ESPN+ for $69.99. On and after August 23, the annual plan increases to $99.99.
If you’re already an ESPN+ monthly subscriber and want to get the annual rate, click here and then select the ‘Get ESPN+’ button (even if you already have it). You’ll be able to log in and then switch to the annual plan.
We can all agree that $69.99 is far better than $99.99 especially if we’re going to be watching ESPN+ throughout the year for soccer. And, of course, that doesn’t even factor in all of the others sports that ESPN+ offers.
If you do nothing and continue subscribing to ESPN+, your monthly price increases from $6.99 to $9.99 from August 23 onwards. Over 12 months, that’s an increase of $36 for a total expenditure of $119.88. Therefore, the annual plan of $69.99 makes even more sense if you’re currently a month-to-month subscriber.
ESPN+’s renewal of soccer rights
Specifically back to soccer, ESPN+ already features every game from the Bundesliga and LaLiga each season. Plus ESPN+ recently renewed its deals for the English Championship, League Cup, DFB-Pokal, Copa del Rey and Eredivisie. The streaming service also broadcasts other soccer leagues such as USL and MLS, as well as college soccer, Liga MX and more.

I would not mind cancelling but family likes their Disney Plus and Hulu content. So since I got it, might as well watch a good Mochengladbach vs Hertha Berlin or Norwich vs Millwall match which I have been doing.

You can also cancel and save $99 instead.
ESPN+ is increasing the price, but did they also mention if they will increase the value to customers? I haven’t seen anything.
If we will jump to annual they will conclude (correctly if this is the case) we are all morons. They increase the price, and will be rewarded by more committed subscribers. Really?
I will do only if they provide more value as well.
Right now, I am the biggest Paramount and Peacock fan. I get both for the same $10.

Just this week, ESPN+ renewed deals with Eredivisie, Football League, English Championship, Copa del Rey, DFB-Pokal, League One and League Two.
To be fair, they are adding value. They could have easily passed on all of those leagues.
Have they lost any leagues/competitions that they had the rights to that would make a major difference? The only one I can think of is the European Championship, but even then, most of those games are on linear television.

I don’t see renew as adding anything. It means that they are not subtracting. They had the same things last season (+MLS) for $6.99.
They are certainly not increasing value to customer YoY. They would add value if they got the Libertadores, or added more/all F1 races, etc.
My point is that they are not promising anything else for 43% increase!!!

To rectify what I said – they are actually dropping a lot of things. Euros, MLS, other EU competitions, etc.
And, a 43%!!! increase to sweeten the deal.
I simplified my life and dropped it. Will skip even the last mo. for 6.99.

Nothing official has been announced, but traditionally the renewals are for three years.

I am totally with you. Not interested in any of the American Sports. Bundesliga is meh, because no competition, Bayern v Dortmund, same with La Liga, Mafiosos (Barca) v Political Corrupt (RM) no competition. Serie A three different teams won the Scudetto in the last 3 years, competition like in the EPL.

Cup games Caraboa only quarter, semi and final of interest, not worth $100. FA Cup, VPN plus BBC iPlayer and ITV Hub will cover those matches. So, Feb 2023 I am done with ESPN+

Paramount+ and Peacock that is it for me for streaming services. ESPN+ dropped all the Rugby matches they had therefore nothing left for me to watch.
