Who is going to televise the 2022/2023 season? Is it NBC?

    • Christopher Harris

      June 21, 2022 at 12:46 pm

NBC Sports would be the least likely broadcaster unfortunately.

      • UnitedFan 3478

        June 21, 2022 at 12:48 pm

How come? I was expecting NBC because then, the EPL and EFL would be together on Peacock

        • Christopher Harris

          June 21, 2022 at 12:51 pm

NBC Sports have no interest in acquiring soccer rights outside of the Premier League.

Is NBC getting the rights next season?

@Christopher…ah, was wondering what that was referring to. Glad it’s not just me. Just chatted with an ESPN help desk rep and he told me this:
“sadly this is a currently known issue on Chrome where a user will be automatically logged out when the account is not being used for quite some time or even in a few minutes/hours. As of now we do have a pending request with the chrome and for the meantime please do use a different browser when accessing your ESPN+ subscription to make sure that you wont be logged out automatically. We’re really sorry for this inconvenience and we’re working with chrome for the fix to be implemented as soon as possible.”

I noted it also happened on Firefox on the dell.

He then had me try in incognito mode (on Chrome) and that worked. Also said I should clear cookies & cache. I did that, restarted Chrome and didn’t have the issue. It’s something that shouldn’t happen (that’s the point of the cookie!) but at least this worked (for now)

Thanks for the tips Greg. Those are super helpful as I know a lot of other people have experienced the same thing.

re: ESPN+, I access often from my laptop (mac) or work desktop (dell) via the webpage, using Chrome. For the last two weeks every time I click on a match to watch I have to log-in, despite being logged in already. It’s a new glitch…not sure if it’s related to a Chrome update or something on their end. Anyone else having the same expderience?

    September 22, 2021 at 3:16 pm

@mercator I don’t know that I’d call Wimbledon one of the biggest clubs in the world, but agree that the match should be streamed. 🙂

    September 22, 2021 at 3:14 pm

It’s just not being shown at all. Expect more of this from the League Cup now that people can go back to the stadiums. I’ve learned not to assume that ESPN just doesn’t wanna show it. There usually isn’t a feed available or the match is not part of the rights contract.

  8. Mercator

    September 22, 2021 at 3:02 pm

Game is confirmed not streaming anywhere, Voot Select had the wrong guide so they are not showing it, and not available anywhere online because it’s not broadcast anywhere on earth live. Absolute and complete joke by the EFL, will be pirating every EFL game going forward as I’m not going to support them deliberately not broadcasting a competitve match of one of the biggest clubs in the world.

  9. Justin

    September 22, 2021 at 3:00 pm

ESPN has the rights, and yet they are only selecting half of the Carabao Cup matches to stream today. They have left off all of these matches:

    Brighton – Swansea
    Millwall – Leicester City
    Arsenal – AFC Wimbledon

Best way to thwart piracy and keep subscribers is not to omit games from the broadcast schedule that subscribers want to watch.

    • Christopher Harris

      September 22, 2021 at 3:27 pm

      Those 3 games aren’t being televised. ESPN+ can’t stream what isn’t available.

  10. Mercator

    September 22, 2021 at 2:18 pm

I don’t think the match is being broadcast outside of India at all. 2021 and you can’t watch an Arsenal competitive match basically anywhere on the planet legally. And they wonder why none of us bother to pay for the football – its not on! You can find the match stream with google or on IPTV.

Would be great to get an explanation why this match isn’t broadcast anywhere when they are showing second-rate clubs like S*** and City.

  11. Chronos

    September 22, 2021 at 1:52 pm

Whomever is responsible it is disappointing to Arsenal supporters, as we already have fewer matches to watch with no Europe. Is there even a legal way to pay to get the match here in the States?

Why isn’t tomorrows Arsenal-Wimbledon AFC game being streamed on ESPN?

  13. Steve17

ESPN is now the Worldwide Leader in Sports Gossip. You have to pay extra to watch actual sports competition.

During the earlier rounds of the League Cup, not all of the games are made available to ESPN, so it’s not the fault of ESPN.

If I remember correctly, all of the games from Round 3 onwards are available via ESPN+.

3 out of 25 fixtures. Seems pretty low. Granted, it is just the second round of a Trophy that no one cares about. But it is also a rare time I could see Stoke or Argyle.

Do you think they were required not to show due to competition with UEFA matches? Or just elected not to but world feed was actually available? If the latter, it’s a very very strange decision given they paid for the rights and are charging us for the service!

            • Christopher Harris

              November 27, 2018 at 4:26 pm

It sounds like they either overlooked it or the game wasn’t available internationally.

                November 27, 2018 at 7:44 pm

Was available in many countries. So overlooked? I would never “forget”. I maybe espn should hire one of us to help remember…

                  November 28, 2018 at 8:38 am

Personally, I think they overlooked the game being on since it had been rescheduled. But I have a new contact at ESPN+, so I can make sure to give them a heads-up in the future in case a game isn’t on their schedule.

Is the ESPN deal for the League Cup just like the NBCSN Premier League Deal where the broadcast rights are exclusive in the US? I have LFCTVGO and am curious if the club will stream the game? Seems like they should as the game is available only to paid streaming subscribers not a standard cable arrangement.

    • Christopher Harris

      September 25, 2018 at 9:20 am

The live League Cup rights are exclusive to ESPN+. Usually LFC TV will air their broadcast of the game about 48 hours later.

      • Tom

        September 25, 2018 at 8:09 pm

It’s mainly around 24 hours for EPL games but the ESPN arrangement is double dipping. You pay for cable tier that includes all the ESPN channels plus Disney wants additional ransom for streaming without the extra middleman.
I can understand a monthly fee straight to a service that bid for an exclusive package of games but had no other revenue stream available. But that’s not the case here and they can go sleep with Ariel and the fishes.

    • Oliver Tse

    • Christopher Harris

When are replays made available on espn3? Can you start a match in progress from the beginning? So far, not a fan of sports streaming, will espn air any matches on tv?

    • Christopher Harris

      September 15, 2017 at 6:37 pm

Hi Wentworth, replays of games are available via ESPN3 but I don’t know how long it takes for them to add games as a replay option. Also, you’re not able to rewind back to the beginning for matches that you begin to watch live in progress.

ESPN may air some games on TV in the later rounds, but the vast majority (if not all) of the games will be available via streaming.

  43. Harry

    September 13, 2017 at 10:22 am

Will all the games be on ESPN3, which is a streaming service, and none on TV?

    • Christopher Harris

      September 13, 2017 at 10:39 am

Correct. Some of the games in the later rounds may be on TV. No news yet.

      • Oliver Tse

        September 13, 2017 at 5:47 pm

ESPN Deportes would be another possibility especially if West Ham United were involved.

Quarterfinals are in December, Semifinals (2-legs) in January, the final on the last Sunday in February.

    • Steve

      October 28, 2019 at 10:18 pm

I noticed there was a reply for someone using Dish who could watch ESPN3 without additional cost. If I subscribe to cable, can I watch ESPN3 for free?

      • Christopher Harris

        October 28, 2019 at 10:32 pm

As far as cable, the major cable companies that you can access ESPN3 via authentication are Charter Spectrum, Cox, Optimum, Suddenlink, Xfinity as well as a ton of smaller cable companies.
