@Azer Yes, it is true. I was just watching Japan-France live 30 minutes ago and they cut to a commercial break at the 80th minute (to be fair, the game wasn’t competitive at that point). I have not seen it done during USWNT games, but they certain do it for other matches live and taped.

@Christopher Harris. Is it true that NBC is breaking for commercials during it’s Olympic soccer coverage? I read a comment on WST posted by a reader on a different thread. I’m considering watching the USWNT.

    • Christopher Harris

      July 28, 2021 at 9:38 am

I’ve heard that too but haven’t seen it happen myself. It’s not going to happen on Premier League games though. It’s just typical NBC Olympics broadcasts and breaking for commercials.

@Chris Have you heard any word on what BeIn is likely to acquire to fill the void left by losing La Liga rights? There are several niche sports in the Olympics and Racing that may be interesting additions, such as Volleyball, Handball, FIBA, MotoGP, etc.

    • Christopher Harris

      July 27, 2021 at 7:52 pm

They have Ligue 1, Turkish Super Lig, Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana, as well as CAF Champions League and many of the African national team tournaments.

Outside of soccer, I know they’re working on deals to bring more sports in. But what that would be I’m not sure since I’m only covering soccer.

Now is the time in the Chams.League round of 16 I truly miss Fox. Memory is fading but nearly sure we used to get all 8 games on FoxSports 1 & 2. On a Tuesday, two midday (East Coast time) games & then 2 more at 3pm and then another 4 matches on Wednesday. Don’t recall a week break between “groups.” Seems to me that all first round ties were completed in one week, then the reverse games were finished in the same manner following a week break. I may be mistaken about the exact details but I’m sure we saw all 8 matches and they’d replay the earlier day games later in the day on Fox 1,2, & Fox Soccer Plus. Obviously not every consumer had all these channels but for those who’s sole avocation was (especially European) soccer the funds expended were well worth it. Don’t wish to spend this money on streaming games for my computer rather than my TV and don’t even know if these could be recorded. I could DVR the matches on Fox and by the end of the night have viewed all games played that day. Bottom line, is I wish we still had Fox carrying the UCL as well as now almost totally ignored Europa League.

I have Fubotv Premier, but there’s no BarcaTV or Telemundo. There’re not ‘add-ons’ either. How come they’re listed here?

    • Christopher Harris

      February 6, 2018 at 7:24 am

Barca TV is part of beIN SPORTS. They often broadcast Barca TV programs on that channel when there aren’t games on.

As of writing, the cities that have access to local Telemundo channels via fuboTV are Boston, Brownsville, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Ft Lauderdale, Ft Worth, Fresno, Harlingen, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Manchester, Miami, New York, Oakland, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, San Antonio, San Francisco, San Jose, Sierra Vista, Tucson, Visalia, Weslaco

    Chris,

How about south american soccer? i am interested in Brazilian, Peruvian and Argentinean soccers and of course Copa Libertadores. Which streaming service do you recommend? i am also interested in European soccer.

    • Christopher Harris

      November 3, 2017 at 11:54 am

Hi Rick, you would need a couple of streaming services to provide you with what you need. Here are my recommendations:

Brazilian & Copa Libertadores: fuboTV (to access GolTV and FOX Deportes)
Peruvian & Argentine leagues: Fanatiz. More info is at http://fntz.co/River_Boca
European soccer: fuboTV (to access beIN SPORTS, beIN SPORTS Connect, FS1, FS2, NBCSN and other networks)

Here are more details regarding fuboTV: https://worldsoccertalk-wp.futbolsites.dev/fubo-premier-cheatsheet/

Each Premier League Club to Have at Least Three Matches Exclusive to NBC Sports Gold.
    1. Is there a list to see each club games that will be only on nbc sports gold?

    2. Do I get more premier league games coverage with fubotv or directvnow as of August?

    3. NGSN will launch soon. Do you think they will have coverage to all premier league games or most games not all of them?

    • Christopher Harris

      August 21, 2017 at 8:07 am

Hi Bilal, here are the answers to your questions:

      1) The schedule is at https://www.worldsoccertalk-wp.futbolsites.dev/premier-league-tv-schedule (schedule is subject to change). NBC hasn’t decided which games for the entire season will be on NBC Sports Gold. It looks like that’ll be determined a few weeks in advance.

      2) For Premier League coverage specifically, fuboTV and DIRECTV NOW would offer the same games and capability to access the NBC Sports App (to watch Goal Rush on Saturdays from 10am to Noon ET).

      3) NGSN has been saying they’ll be coming back soon since March 2016 when they suspended service. If they do come back, they won’t have Premier League access.

      • Bilal

        August 24, 2017 at 10:19 am

Thanks for reply. Other then directly paying $49.99 for NBC Sports Gold is there any other way to access the matches on gold pass?

        • Christopher Harris

          August 24, 2017 at 1:26 pm

No, that’s the only way to legally watch those games in the US.

  12. Aiden

    August 19, 2017 at 11:50 am

    Hello!

Thanks for the informative article. Really appreciate it. 1 question: you commented that Fubo gives you “most” prem games. How many, out of 10, is that per weekend? I only see NBC and NBCSN (CNBC) as well, as channels they cover, meaning that’s 3 max per day.
I used to use NBC Live Extra, but they cut it this year for 50 dollar yearly rate, but I can’t record or watch Bundesliga etc etc. I want to get Fubo, but worried about it’s Prem coverage. Thanks!

    • Christopher Harris

      August 19, 2017 at 12:11 pm

Great question. With fubo, you get most of the Premier League games. The only games you wouldn’t get are the ones that are on Premier League Pass (usually 3 or 4 on a Saturday from 10am-Noon ET). However, with fuboTV, you can use your fuboTV login credentials to access the NBC Sports App and then watch Goal Rush during that time window. With Goal Rush you’ll see all of the goals and major incidents of those games. Here’s more info about Goal Rush: https://worldsoccertalk-wp.futbolsites.dev/2016/08/27/nbcs-debut-premier-league-goal-rush-smashing-success/

The only other complication are games that are shown on the over-the-air NBC channel (on some Saturdays from 12:30-2:30pm ET). For those games, fuboTV offers live access to NBC in select cities. If your city isn’t one of them, you could watch the game for free with a HD antenna. More info about that can be found at https://worldsoccertalk-wp.futbolsites.dev/2017/01/24/watch-premier-league-nbc-network-hd-indoor-tv-antenna/

The cities that fuboTV is allowed to broadcast live NBC coverage are:

      New York
      Los Angeles
      Chicago
      Philadelphia
      San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose
      Dallas-Fort Worth
      Washington, DC (Hagerstown)
      Miami-Fort Lauderdale
      San Diego
      Hartford-New Haven
      Boston

    chris,

do any of the streaming platforms that provide NBCSN also provide access to the “extra time” matches, either live or via access to the nbc sports app? specifically youtube live or hulu with live tv

    • Christopher Harris

      June 16, 2017 at 2:10 am

The only two that do so at this time are DIRECTV NOW and Vue. I’m expecting others will add NBC Sports App this summer before the new season kicks off.

Slightly off topic, but it might be a good time to redo your list of which cable and satellite providers offer nbcsn extra time. I’m having a helluva time here in tampa. I call the providers…already have directv and would like to fire them since at&t bought them…and they can’t seem to tell me if they do or don’t have it.

    • Christopher Harris

A combination of Premier League Pass plus fuboTV may be your best bet in order to ensure you get to watch all of the games you’re interested in.

Hi,we have started Sling blue on trial basis.Though we could located EPL, I am not able to locate which channel is playing LA LIGA in SLING BLUE.Though from this forum it appears that La Liga should come in SLING BLUE.Can you please let me know.

    • Christopher Harris

      August 27, 2016 at 1:07 pm

La Liga is on beIN SPORTS. With Sling Blue, you should be able to add the ‘Best of Spanish TV’ or ‘Sports Extra’ option under your free trial. Once the trial is over, if you decide to continue having beIN SPORTS, it’s $5/month for that add-on package plus the $25/month for all of the other channels.

      • PAT MUKHERJEE

        August 27, 2016 at 1:30 pm

But probably EPL will not be available in that case in SLING ORANGE..

          • Christopher Harris

            August 27, 2016 at 1:48 pm

Correct. EPL is only with Sling Blue. But you can get beIN SPORTS Connect as an add-on to Sling Orange. You can get Sling Orange and Sling Blue combined with beIN SPORTS added for $45/month total.

I am a juventus fan so i am interested in seria a games and champions league, i had a subsciption with fubo before but they only streamed seria a.
So which site and package is the most suitable for me ??
              which channels stream seria a
and which channels stream Champions League?

              Thanks

              • Christopher Harris

                September 18, 2016 at 7:35 am

Hi OT, one option is to subscribe to Sling Blue and then add on the Best of Spanish TV package. With Sling Blue plus the Best of Spanish TV, you’ll get Serie A games plus Champions League matches. Serie A games are on beIN SPORTS. Champions League games are on FS1, FS2 and FOX Sports Net.

Now if you want to get access to *every* single Serie A game and *every* single Champions League game, you’ll need to get a subscription to fuboTV and FOX Soccer 2GO. With fuboTV, you can get all of the Serie A games from beIN SPORTS and beIN SPORTS Connect. With FOX Soccer 2GO, the streaming service offers every single Champions League game.

    • Christopher Harris

Thanks Bolt. It is actually $25.
But it doesn’t provide all the weekend matches. Show only matches on NBCSN.
So, every weekend 2 to 3 guaranteed matches.

What services are available in Canada for legal streaming of Bundesliga games? The ones you have listed are for US customers only. I find that some of the games appear occasionally on the channels we subscribe to but that is not enough for us. Thank you for your response.

We don’t have details on Canada, unfortunately. But perhaps some of our readers north of the border can help share information.
