Where to watch Serie A on US TV
Beginning with the 2021/22 season, Serie A has a new rights holder in the United States with exclusive coverage across streaming service Paramount+ for the next three seasons. Paramount+ will deliver more than 400 club matches live each season through 2024, featuring all 380 Serie A matches, at least 25 Coppa Italia matches including all contests from the fourth knockout round on, and the Supercoppa Italiana match each year between the winners of Serie A and Coppa Italia. Select matches will be televised each year on CBS Sports linear platforms including CBS Sports Network.
Paramount+, a leading destination for U.S. soccer fans, features more than a thousand live matches each year across an extensive portfolio of soccer properties, including UEFA club competitions, Scottish Premiership, NWSL, Concacaf Men’s World Cup Qualifiers, Argentina’s Liga Profesional de Fútbol and Brasileirāo.

Radio coverage
Avid radio listeners can tune into channel 85 on SiriusXM to find Serie A coverage, both for live matches and weekly commentary of the Italian league. AS Roma fans can also check out Roma Radio on the TuneIn app.
Finally, if you want to interact with fellow soccer fans while watching your favorite Italian club’s matches you could always find a local pub in or near your area. @Michelangelo They get SAP from the World feed, so it is highly unlikely that they will interact with the North Am presenters. Also, they seem to provide SAP only to the games in which both audio streams come from the world stream. If that is the case, I would expect that the most important games will have local narration and pre and post shows, but no SAP option.

We need more games on CBSSN instead of only one game a week. Will it be only Sundays at 12:30 each game we get on CBSSN or will more matches be televised on other CBS networks. Why not stream a couple of matches on the Paramount Network? This would be Perfect for the Paramount Network to gain an audience. More Italian SAP options for the games and more devices that have this feature. Forza Napoli!!!!

@Paul Recchia- usually to watch matches live in Italian it would have to be through Rai Italia. Their coverage superior to an American station although the channel isn’t in HD. Hopefully Rai Italia and Paramount Plus can work together if they get the Italian SAP option on their app so we can get the most authentic coverage similar to DAZN or SKY. Forza Napoli!!! Can’t wait for the Serie A season to start!

@Paul- I recently called Paramount Plus and they have no idea of what I’m talking about. They don’t even know what the Serie A is. Let’s hope they can deliver because their Coppa Italia coverage is horrible. The specials and highlights section don’t work at times. The quality can be better as well.

@Ra. I understand that some of my ideas may be unrealistic due to the fact that the Serie A rights in Italy are far superior to those in the states due to the fact it’s the main league that they watch. However, having Italian SAP audio option will be a huge outlook to the game. Paramount Plus needs to find a way to work Rai Italia for announcers and broadcasting skills due to the fact this is their opening year for a new league. It’s important to obtain new fans this year and by doing so this will drive Paramount’s stock to the roof. Serie A’s coverage should be very similar but could be better if they create a Diretta Goal or a Goal Zone channel for fans that want to watch non-stop action. Another key factor is they could add a feature on the app by saying what team do you support so you can get all the highlights and clips from your club. Their should also be an option to choose your favorite team as an Icon on the app as well. I choose SpongeBob as my default one but it could be a nice touch for the fans. In addition, A Soccer or Sports section would be lovely instead of always going into the TV show section. I’m not sure if Paramount has this but it would also be beneficial to add the Serie A into your favorites section so fans could jump into a live match directly on the home screen. Before the matches start Paramount plus could start a poll on who is going to win the match and other questions that could pertain to that matchup. Let the fans be interactive with the Serie A and let them most importantly have fun with the beautiful game. More Customization is needed and their should be a main section as well for soccer since many customers are buying it for this particular reason. @Ra- So what are your suggestions for Paramount Plus and the Serie A? Forza Napoli and Forza Calcio!!!

@Michelangelo. Your ideas are good, but they are unrealistic. If they were to be implemented, Serie A would have the best coverage across all sports and networks for US TV. It is highly unlikely unless ViacomCBS were to use Serie A to test the waters.
Serie A is a modest property for CBS compared to what you are used to in Italy. For reference, CBS reportedly paid $70M per year while Sky/DAZN bought the Italian rights for $1B+/yr.

@Ra and @JP The Goalazo Show or Rai has “La Giostra del Goal” is critical to the success of the Serie A on Paramount Plus. Sky Italia has Calcio Diretta Goal which shows all the matches on that matchday live. It changed from 4-6 different matches depending on the day. This is a must if Paramount Plus wants to succeed in ratings, especially on their opening year on a new platform. Paramount Plus needs to create an interactive experience for fans to experience on all devices. In Italy sky does that with their remotes by clicking the color to answer the question. Another tip and idea that could really spark a new audience. Paramount need to learn from how NFL Redzone provides their coverage however without interrupting the matches with one commentator. An Italian commentator for the SAP option would add a whole other level to excitement and passion to the Serie A. Paramount Plus could use some of Rai Italia’s commentators for the Italian version. We also need a pre-post show for all Serie A matchups and get in depth analysis with some legends like Alessandro Del Piero and Christian Vieri. What other ideas or opinions do you guys have for Paramount Plus and the Serie A. Thank you so much for the fantastic feedback and Forza Napoli!!!

@Michelangelo It would be a good feature, but I would rather have the option to watch some serie A games along with other competitions and sports. As for your other suggestion, it seems that this is something you can already find in a betting website. Not really my cup of tea.

@Michelangelo, completely agree about the need for CBS/Paramount+ to have a Golazo type show for the 9am Sunday match window. beIN did this their last couple of years with Serie A with MultiCalcio. During the main match they’d have cut ins to show highlights of recent goals in other matches like RAI’s La Giostra dei Gol.
That’s the key though, needs to be incorporated into the framework of another match, not the format they had for the Champions League and Europa League Golazo shows. That is too distracting, especially with the presenter constantly talking. That format works for NFL and the viewers who only care about their fantasy stats, but less so in soccer in my opinion.

@Ra All we can do is hope for the best as well. An Italian Language SAP option is also a must as well. I have another idea on Paramount Plus can incorporative interactive tv as well. During the match Paramount Plus should ask fans on who will win the match, the MVP, who will score first, Over or Under, etc. The options are limitless and interactive option could really be a fun and new alternative for Serie A fans. There should also be a poll on what Serie A matchup the fans want to see on CBS or CBS Sports Network. At Least 2-4 matches a week should be aired on CBS and CBS Sports network so subscribers of Paramount Plus and Cable TV viewers can watch some of the matches. Can’t wait for the brand new start of the Italian Serie A on Paramount Plus and CBS Networks. Forza Napoli and Forza Calcio!!!

@Ra I understand that ESPN Plus had this feature for Apple TV. However, what about a channel like a NFL Redzone, A Goalazo show which shows all the goals and all the different matchups live on one channel stream. Apple TV has that feature which is great but your never going to get a full Serie A experience unless your watching a channel that streams all the matches and flips around through all the games showing you the goals and moments that could change the season. I know Fox Soccer Plus had this feature for the Champions League and the German Bundesliga. Therefore, this is a must for the Serie A and Paramount Plus to capitalize on this feature. Not only the Serie A but all matches that are being streamed at the same time could use this feature. Paramount Plus needs to listen to Worldsoccertalk.com and the community that we are providing for our fans. Forza Napoli!!!

@Michelangelo Yes, you can watch 4 games simultaneously on ESPN+ and you can select how to arrange them. All you need is a 4k AppleTV. It is worth the investment.

ESPN Plus and their coverage of the Italian Serie A was absolutely amazing. I hope that Paramount Plus can replicate this and bring the beautiful game to life. However, their are some things that Paramount Plus need to do bring more viewers and keep more viewers.
1. Rewind, Fast Forward, Play, Pause. This This is not an option and this is upsetting since were in the 21st century and all streaming platforms have this simple option. It would be also great if you could jump to the main highlight during the steam such as a goal, foul, penalty, VAR, etc. They should create pop ups so the viewer can jump into it quickly so they don’t miss important action and they have to constantly Rewind and fast forward for this.
2. Golazo Show- This is a must for the Serie a and Americans to successfully enjoy Calcio. The Serie A usually streams matches simultaneously however ESPN Plus streamed all the matches but their was no way to watch a NFL Redzone type feel stream that shows you all the action through all the games at the same time. Paramount Plus need to capitalize on this and is crucial for the success of Serie A’s ratings increase in the States.
3. Multi language broadcast is also a must on how the Italian Serie A can spike up more viewers. An Italian broadcast would make the most sense as a SAP language since it is the Italian Serie A. By adding native Italian broadcasting to the game creates an exciting level of passion, drama, insights, and honor to the league. Disney Plus has multiple language options for their films so why not have Italian announcers for their league.
4. Pre Show and Post show for all the Matches on Saturday and Sunday. This is something that the Barclays Premier League does exceptional on NBC and NBCSN with their coverage. If Paramount Plus want to be successful they need to execute this with some legends analyzing the games as well.
5. On Demand Service- The games need to uploading immediately after the game has ended. The also need to post the pre and post coverage alongside the match as well. What ESPN plus did as well is they showed some highlights of previous matches between the clubs, Serie A show, Goal Show, eSports Serie A, preview shows, ETC. All the things that ESPN Plus did need to transfer to Paramount Plus and more.
6. Lets hope that Paramount Plus can provide a new and fresh Feeling to the greatest, oldest league which is the Italian Serie A. Forza NAPOLI!!!

College Football is more important for ESPN than professional football. ESPN could have put the SERIE A on ESPN Deportes and installed the SAP option for the English speaking audience. They have the resources to do this, they’re one of the richest companies in the nation, but I guess greed always prevails. Yes, ESPN plus is cheap at the moment but I prefer watching the beautiful game on TV. Comcast in my area is offering RAI Italia for $10 a month, the channel has the SERIE A in Italian. I’m considering adding it to my bill. Football on TV in the USA is going back to the 1990’s.

ESPN Plus streams their games in 720p and 60fps (frames per second). The picture quality is actually BETTER than most compressed digital video on satellite or cable. Saying you “prefer watching the beautiful game on TV” is a wonderful sentiment but all it does is limit your choices. As I pointed out, the video quality is comparable to your TV (and the audio used by ESPN Plus is Int’l commentary which again is a plus). Also, RAI Italia is in SD on Comcast (pretty sure) so talk about going back to 1990’s.
Finally, with a FireTV stick, which comes pre-loaded with the ESPN App, is available as low as $24.99, you can no longer use the excuse that ESPN+ would be on your computer nor not affordable.

This I totally agree I think alot of people that gripe about ESPN+ have no clue of how good it is as you stated. A New Gen Roku stick can be bought online for as low as $20 bucks the same as a FireTV stick. It’s simply a matter of plugging the stick up to your 40in. and connecting it to your internet. You can simply change HD modes from Roku channel your watching back to your regular cable with one button if you are channel surfing. It’s just like having a channel and channel surfing. The picture quality is good. It might buffer once every 2 hours but it doesn’t last long and can be fixed quickly by hitting pause and play.

Also, the match of the week they show on TV is not always the best Serie A has to offer. Empoli v Lazio instead of Napoli/Fiorentina or Juve/Sassuolo this weekend. Next week it’s Torino v Napoli, pretty good….except the match is at 6:30 AM! Would be better choosing Samp/Inter 2:30 Saturday or Milan/Atalanta 12:00 Sunday.

The IMG agency has confirmed it will launch Serie A Pass, a global OTT subscription service that will offer live coverage of every match from the top division of Italian football.
The service will be available from the start of the 2018-19 season on August 18.
