ESPN+ is great! I’ve been streaming for years in a variety of ways—depending upon which streaming device I use (sometimes the Roku to the big screen; sometimes to the Chromecast device via my laptop when I watch on a smaller screen outdoors.) Over the years, I’ve just used ESPN+ for domestic (U.S.) soccer leagues (1st & 2nd division teams.) Previously, I watched the Bundesliga matches via the Fox Soccer Match Pass, but–with their move to ESPN+, things have worked-out even better for me. My only little disappointment has been that the Bundesliga 2 games aren’t well-covered via ESPN+. BUT, all Bundesliga games are available on ESPN+. BTW, the picture quality on ESPN+ is always solid–no buffering, etc. ((I haven’t used cable/satellite TV in well over 10 years & have no regrets.))

Steve. The way ESPN has allowed us football fans to watch is great. I guess if you have Cable/Satellite or a Live streaming service then maybe you are mad. But for us that don’t have expensive cable packages this is a great experience. I have the Hulu/disney/ESPN bundle and CBS All Access. Yes I miss the Premiere League but I’ll be ok. Only thing I might add is Fanatiz as a Christmas gift this year.

What exactly would you want ESPN to do; put 2 or 3 matches on a weekend on cable and hide the rest behind a pay wall like NBC is doing.

@Steve Shepard, ESPN is streaming the Bundesliga on ESPN+ They don’t have a channel to broadcast the league on TV. College Football is ESPN’s bread & butter, more revenue for the company.

Why on earth would you buy the rights to this and not broadcast it ??? another poor business decision at ESPN ! If you want America to continue to have crappy soccer here and never compete on a global scale again, you’re on the right track ! what a joke …. you have no clue the viewers you are missing !!!

I am saddened by the loss of Bundesliga soccer on American television. I was able to watch a different game every morning with my coffee in hand on Fox. Now I see that although I already pay for 2 ESPN channels there will be no games unless I pay even more. My cable bill is already too high. I hate that I have lost the connection I formed with the stars on every team during this last year. Goodby Bundesliga It’s too bad it was ESPN. They will kill it. The Premeir league does not hold a place in my heart the way Bundesliga did. I searched here to see if I could watch on spanish channels but it appears that is also a bust. It’s a bad jones when you are willing to watch in a language you don’t understand. We pay the cable company $250 a month now ESPN says pay more…..I give up. I remember when tv was free. Then they said we will make it better with a digital signal. The signal travels half as far and we now get no signal. Now it’s happened to soccer, ESPN makes it better by eliminating it from television.

I’m disappointed. no games on TV no studio, no experts. Fox did a much better job. Now the streaming quality is much better than fox. the biggest thing to me though is there is no more 2.bundesliga games even though they did advertise them. I e mailed ESPN already and complained but they couldn’t give me a satisfactory answer.

Per Derek Rae, espn+ will have one 2 Bundesliga game per week. Today (9/28/2020) it’s Paderborn vs Hamburger HSV.

Interesting. I just cancelled my subscription to ESPN+ after I realized the deceptive advertisement. They claim that all the Bundesliga games were to be streamed. That certainly was not the case. One game and the rest highlights from other games. The quality of the utube transmission was terrible. Anyway, this is a disastrous change and surely will result in many loyal Bundesliga fans defecting. Bad move. I would advise anyone considering to sign up for ESPN+ to look into it carefully. Once other fact. You can’t record any internet streaming transmissions. So, you either watch in real time or, oh well, you are out of luck. As I said, a bad, bad move on part of the Bundesliga.

I was curious about your comment and went and looked at my ESPN+ app, and I have multiple streams from last weekend available (I’m seeing nine available on-demand). Can you clarify what you mean about all the Bundesliga games not being streamed?

      • Jeff

        September 22, 2020 at 7:21 pm

Yes and the picture quality is better than last year on FS1/FS2. So far, ESPN is doing a good job with the games and extra content and the app/streams work very well.

Combined with the other leagues on ESPN+ (Serie A, Championship, eredivisie), makes EPL and all the Peacock shenanigans less important to me. 🙂

I had no problem streaming Bundesliga on ESPN+ using my computer. (I don’t use an app) In fact, I only have DSL and the picture quality was excellent and there was no buffering. I’m not fan of streaming but I have been very satisfied with espn+ (using my Laptop). As for all the games not being Live Streamed – they are. I found that on the home page, it can be a bit difficult to find all the links to each game. You have to go to “Schedule & Replays” (top of page) and select “Live Now” to see list of all the games. Then click on the game you want to watch. I don’t know about recording as I don’t do that but all the games are available for replay for at least a few days after it was Live.

For $35 you can attach a chromecast streaming device to your TV and cast all the Bundesliga games from your phone to your TV. I do that on my old 75″ Samsung that we use in the basement. The picture quality is excellent.

Please cancel my yearly subscription that I charged on my credit card 30 or less minutes ago. How can i cancel. Thank you in advance. Sorry for my confusion.

Please help. I heard that FOX Soccer Match Pass showed all the Bundesliga games. According to their website they will only be showing one of the five Saturday games this week. Is that correct? I have cable and they are showing 3 of the 5 games.

Is it possible that Fox Soccer Match Pass has not updated their webpage?

    • Christopher Harris

Hi Ray, it looks like they haven’t updated their Bundesliga scheduled for Saturday. All of the games should be available through there.

Bundesliga will be on FOX Sports for the last season of their current deal during the 2019/20 season. After that, we’ll have to see who wins the bid for the next rights cycle.

Too Bad! I am very disappointed and extremely frustrated to have lost the TV broadcasts of the weekly Bundesliga games via Fox. This change will cost the Bundesliga a number of loyal, diehard fans. A bad move on part of the Bundesliga. ESPN+ is a horrendously disappointing substitute. In many respects, it is an atrocious replacement. ESPN+ should be called out for deceptive and fraudulent adverting! Where are the promised live transmissions of the weekly Liga games?? Only one game was broadcast and the quality of the streaming broadcast on UTube was terrible. Who in the hell cares about “highlights” and “OLD” replays of snippets from games. This will not increase American Bundesliga viewers. On the contrary, you will be loosing fans like me and my friends. What a sh&tty move, Bloedsinn! Fox, please bring back the Bundesliga!

Actually, according to the Fox Sports website and Soccer on Fox Sports (Wikipedia), Ian Joy is the Bundesliga lead studio host. Also, my sources tell me that Kate Abdo won’t be working to many Bundesliga matches due to her obligation to Turner Sports for the UEFA Champions League.
