Women’s Soccer TV Schedule for US Viewers

Women's soccer TV schedule

If you’re looking for women’s soccer TV schedule for viewers in the United States, you’ve come to the right place.

The women’s soccer environment is rapidly growing. For years, the only competition that truly garnered major attention was the FIFA Women’s World Cup. However, growth in the club game as well as the rest of international soccer put more emphasis on the women’s game.

Take the U.S. Women’s National Team as an example. The side regularly pulls in a healthy quantity of viewers. Now, fans can watch USWNT players in the NWSL or a variety of European leagues.

Furthermore, FC Barcelona Femení broke the record for highest attendance at a women’s soccer game. As Barcelona played Wolfsburg in the first leg of the semifinals in the 2020/21 UEFA Women’s Champions League, 91,648 fans watched the Catalan club.

With the ease of watching women’s soccer, you can watch Women’s Champions League action for free on YouTube.

Therefore, World Soccer Talk has individual schedules for some of the major women’s competitions in the modern sport.

For American fans, however, the USWNT is still a major focus. Here is the USWNT schedule. The Women’s soccer TV schedules for other leagues and competitions are also below. Simply click the image to learn more about how to watch that specific competition.

Watch women’s soccer on TV and streaming

For the NWSL, CBS (mostly Paramount+) has the rights to the women’s elite league in the United States from 2020 through the end of 2023. Select games will be shown via Twitch.

US Women’s National Team matches are mostly televised on FS1 or FS2, although ESPN also shares these rights. It truly depends on the competition. FOX holds the rights to the FIFA Women’s World Cup and the She Believes Cup. Meanwhile, friendlies could be on ESPN or ESPN2.

For club soccer, watch the UEFA Women’s Champions League matches for free on the DAZN YouTube channels in different languages.

Too much chatter by women commentators . Why is it necessary for commentators to talk about women players “partners!!!! Why is it necessary to comment on the color of referries .
European soccer never comments on any sex, color .. all about the game.
    Not watching American soccer anymore

I understand, agree, and ignore the chatter. I like watching the USWNT because they play using their brains.

We’ll said, I like watching because of the depth of the skill level.

I am not really the kind of soccer fan who posts these kind of comments. My interest is confined to the U.S. National Women’s Team. I would like to know what their TV schedule is going to be for the rest of this year. If you can help with that I would really appreciate it.

    • Christopher Harris

      May 19, 2022 at 7:11 am

Hi Stephen, we’ve now updated the page to show the schedule for the remainder of the year. All the games listed are the only ones scheduled at this time.

why is it impossible to find “televised” options for Canada’s women’s soccer team? ridiculous.
also quite difficult to find USWNT games, but they have definitely gotten better coverage since winning the 2019 World Cup.. thankfully

@Ric, in case you are monitoring this thread, USWNT-Australia in November 2021 is confirmed per USWNT Twitter – “Ready to close out our 2021 schedule with two matches in Australia against @TheMatildas”
    .
    * November 26 11 pm EST FS2 – match in Sydney, Australia
    * November 30 4 am EST ESPN – match in Newcastle, Australia

  6. Ric Vincent

    October 26, 2021 at 3:30 am

    That’s a pretty long bye…But thnx for the info!…

  7. dave

    October 24, 2021 at 8:18 pm

@Ric, NWSL regular season wraps up this week (October 28 – October 31) with playoffs the following three weekends (championship game November 20). I believe there are no currently confirmed USWNT games after October 26.
    .
Australia was rumored, though not yet confirmed, as the opponent for USWNT friendlies in the November 22 – December 1 2021 FIFA break.
    .
CONCACAF consolidated women’s qualifiers to be run in 2022. I do not understand it but US and Canada get a bye until they join July 9-24, 2022. Probably some friendlies, not yet scheduled, in early 2022 (search “women’s soccer international breaks” and one of the first links is the FIFA women’s break calendar for the 2020-2023 cycle)

  8. Ric Vincent

    October 24, 2021 at 2:23 pm

After this (2021) Octobers’ games, would you know when are the next games for the USWNT? Their site and the NWSL does a really poor job of updating/posting future games…

Both the U.S. Men and Women National Soccer games should be available on local channels accessible to all the public. If you want to promote soccer this must be done. There is no reason that any contracts with the streaming networks can’t include this as a requirement. Please try and push this basic suggestion to help the national soccer teams.

    • Christopher Harris

      February 28, 2021 at 9:00 am

Rights are held by the home team, so we can expect to see the PSG games on beIN SPORTS, while the other clubs may have games on their club websites as well as social media.

BEIN Sports usually carries the Tournoi de France – which recently got canceled this year due to Covid. However BEIN Sports will carry the two friendlies between France and Switzerland this coming Saturday and Tuesday. Generally BEIN Sports is very good (or better than anyone else in the USA) about carrying France’s matches that aren’t being carried on mainstream media. Sometimes they also carry some of the semifinal and final UEFA CHampions League matches. Also, ou can watch all of the Lyon women’s D1 matches by subscribing to OLPlay through the Olympique Lyonnais website (www.ol.fr) for 2.99 euros (about $3.75) a month. OLPlay has a complete library of full matches going back several years. The commentary is is French. During covid they are not pumping in crowd noise so you can hear the coaches and players – which I prefer.

Do you know if the rights to Women’s UEFA Champions League have been picked up in the US yet? CBS All Access aired the final few rounds of last years delayed championship. Has there been any news that they will pick up 2020-21 season? Chelsea, Lyon, Juve games start week of 12/14/20.

The game against the Netherlands was on ESPN2. USWNT friendlies tend to be on the ESPN family of networks (ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNNEWS, etc.). CONCACAF competitions that the USWNT plays in (for example, CONCACAF Women’s Olympic Qualifiers) are broadcast on the FOX family of networks (FOX, FS1, FS2, etc.) because FOX own the tv rights to CONCACAF competitions (Gold Cup, Champions League, etc.). The FIFA Women’s World Cup is also broadcast on the FOX networks.

  24. Noe

    November 21, 2020 at 11:45 am

It would be nice if you included all the leagues and streaming platforms like Nadeshiko’s, Bundesliga’s, LaLiga Feminil, Spain’s etc. Include platforms like FAPlayer, YouTube, Cujoo, Twitch, etc. I just realized Nadeshiko were on YouTube. I’ve not found a good listing with all women’s games -but LiveSoccerTv usually has major channels and USWNT- it would be good for someone to host a list of all leagues.

    • Christopher Harris

      November 21, 2020 at 12:19 pm

We’re planning on expanding the listings in the near future to include many more leagues and games.

NBCSports holds rights to WSL, at least for this year and are showing not all, but a lot of the games. Also, FA Player online shows WSL games. Enjoy!

      • Sandy Burd

Will ESPN+ cover the Women’s FA Community Shield game – Chelsea v. Man City? It’s a double-header with the Men’s Arsenal v. Liverpool game. ESPN+ lists the latter game but not the Women’s.
ESPN+ should show it! If not, do you know if it will be available on the FA Player?

    • Christopher Harris

      August 24, 2020 at 6:38 pm

FA Player would be the best bet right now. In the UK, the BBC has the rights to game. But it’s usually a last minute decision when it comes to the FA Player, so I would recommend checking there on Saturday. Unfortunately, the FA doesn’t do a good job at promoting what games they have on FA Player.

    • Sandy Burd

      September 19, 2020 at 4:11 pm

As far as I know, you can still see a replay of the FA Community Shield women’s game on the FA Player website under Archive.

Fox Sports is going to spoil the viewing experience if they bring back it’s rules analyst ”Dr.” Joe Machnik to analyze the play/game. I’m sure many remember him from the 2018 FIFA World Cup and the disaster we had to endure for the entire month last year. I’m guessing Fox is going to hire it’s domestic crew for commentary, they’re not going to use the world feed. God help us.

    • Jared

      June 4, 2019 at 3:04 pm

I think Machnik is doing the Gold Cup only this year. Christina Unkel is FOX Sports’ FIFA Women’s World Cup™ rules analyst.

Will the NWSL games be on TV in 2018, such as on Lifetime? and will they be available on streaming video, such as GO90.com?

    • Oliver Tse

      January 27, 2018 at 3:44 pm

One NWSL match each round on Lifetime on Saturdays, plus both semifinals (September 14-16, depending on venue availability) and Final on September 22. The rest will be streamed via Go90 app. 2nd year of 3-year contract. Vista Worldlink (Dania Beach, Florida) is handling all productions for NWSL.

NWSL is down to 9 teams after investors of Boston Breakers pulled out. FC Kansas City was acquired by the Real Salt Lake organization and has been renamed the Utah Royals. The Utah Royals will play at Real Salt Lake stadium in Sandy, Utah.

FC Barcelona, long-rumored to be interested in operating an NWSL team in San Jose, California, did not pull the trigger over the NWSL offseason. FC Barcelona officials have been interested in opening a youth academy in Silicon Valley ever since former FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta visited Stanford University for a guest lecture in 2007.
