   if he must take a six months holiday let him.

   WE NEED HIM WHATEVER THE PRICE AND WHENEVER HE IS AVAILABLE : NOW OR NEXT YEAR

   For the first time ever perhaps Sams and I agree, at least on one thing. Klinsmann is known to be somewhat eccentric and our program is not in the sort of shape where we can wait 6 months for a manager to take a holiday before taking over. We must reshape the USSF and the national team now and if that means we have to move past Klinsmann while he takes a “holiday” then so be it.

   Keep in mind Arena, Klinsmann and Gulati are all buddies and perhaps they have already spoken of the situation and thus Klinsmann is allowing Arena to serve out his contract, which also gets Gulati off the hot seat and Klinsmann can spend time and money on a vacation in the South Pacific. Then come December, Arena says thank you but I’m moving on and want to pursue other options, Klinsmann is refreshed from his vacation and Gulati is a genius for hiring the coach who took Germany to the semifinals.

   This whole thing smells like a rat to me. Heck, Klinsmann may even become the “manager” of the team while Arena continues as coach. Something is up for sure, otherwise Klinsmann wouldn’t have said bye bye to Germany so quickly without something already on the table.

   Klinsmann is a real bastard if he thinks he can play us for 6 months. We don’t need him anyhow. We have one of the most respected world coaches now.

   Klinsmann has stated hw wants a 6 month vacation. arena has 6 months left on his contract. see the connection?

    He will work with the USSF in some capacity I am fairly certain. The only question is whether it would be as Head Coach or as an advisor.

    Although I think Arena has done an acceptable job as USA coach, it would be better for American soccer’s future to bring in someone else — whether that person is Klinsmann or someone else. We can wait until December for the transistion, as Arena doesn’t deserved to be dumped.

    Italy’s Lippis has resigned after accomplishing his goal. The whole cycle of coaches in international soccer ebbs and flows except for Arena who insists on being coach for life.
