Blackburn Rovers Home Shirt for 2011-12 Season: Photo

Blackburn Rovers have yet to find a shirt sponsor for the 2011-12 Premier League season. While the money that’ll come in from the prospective deal will be important for Rovers, it would be nice to see no sponsor chosen. As you can see in the above photograph, the Blackburn shirt for the 2011-12 season looks great as-is. It’d be a shame to ruin it with a sponsor’s name emblazoned across the front of the shirt.

The above photograph shows a Blackburn Rovers reserve match. The famous blue and white halves can be seen on the front of the shirt, which is flanked by red trim at the bottom of the sleeves and on the V-neck collar.

This looks like another winning design from Umbro. But what do you think? Share your opinions in the comments section below.

A little insight here… Nike and addidas only pay the teams in top 6 (with the exception of villa) to make their shirts… Everyone else must hand over rights for free so the clubs make less profit or they go elsewhere (kappa puma umbro etc) but still the money is poor and no real money is spent on designs. Its a shame because the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.basically only the good teams get any effort put into shirts,.

Sorry, my first impression of it is that it’s a turd, again. I didn’t like last year’s shirt either but what’s with that horribly clashing fat red trim on the sleeves and collar?
The last Rovers I really, really liked came the season before last where it was a really simple design with a white collar and no trim around the sleeves. Plain, sleek and stylish but I missed the opportunity to get that one.

Umbro are terrible though, let’s be honest. They’re design styles are just so outdated and look like they should’ve been made 10 years ago. I think, either their design people are retarded, or they’re just plain lazy. I’d love Nike or Adidas to supply our shirts but they wouldn’t go anywhere near us, even before the debacle of the new owners clucking their way into town.

    Oh well.

I love the shirt, but it’ll depend on how the sponsor looks on it as well. I loved the shirt last year, but the CrownPaints logo was huge and felt really cheap, like it was an iron-on.
