How much did BeinSport pay for the bundle of rights?

How long is the deal for? Are 3 years?

beIN SPORT is notoriously slow in keeping their TV guides up to date, so don’t count them out yet.

As others have already stated – BeIn already has too much content and not enough distribution, and now they buy the Russian league rights? Where will those matches go and a which league’s expense?

Often the same match on the English language channel appears on the Spanish language channel at the same time, so it’s not like they use both channels to maximize match viewing. Serie A takes a significant back seat to La Liga on BeIn in my opinion, and the Championship is effectively nowhere to be seen. To their credit, BeIn is making an effort – The Express, their highlight/news show, is not great but improving, and The Locker Room studio show has been the real revelation as I find that to be very entertaining and informative. The Global Game is also worth watching.
Long story short, if anyone at BeIn is reading this they really do need a BeIn Plus distribution channel.

beIN is the worst thing that hapenned to international soccer in USA. My cable provider, Cox, does NOT even carry them, one full year after launch. I have heard horrible things from my friends who have it.

Good news. There’s a lot of money in Russian football and the level of their domestic league is pretty decent.

It’s a shame that the Bundesliga is trapped on GolTV.

ESPN3.com still shows a few of the games each weekend under a sub-licensing deal they have with GolTV.

Bein Sports gobbling up all the sports so no one can see them becasue they don’t have enough channels or an internet option and they are barely carried by any provider.

This is good news for us European football fans, but bein is already having a hard time showing live matches of all the leagues they already have. Gaffer any news on a bein plus channel?

I am disgusted by beIN sports, as a fan of the championship I hardly see any games live as it is and as Cmcast xfinity subscriber don’t even have access to their on line broadcasts.

It seems when they lost the bid for the EPL rights they put the Championship on the back burner.

      • King of Couches

        June 26, 2013 at 1:39 pm

The problem with beIN’s Championship coverage is that it started off strong, and then the network essentially dropped it after the new year began. It’s almost like somebody reminded the network that it had the license when it covered the playoffs.

beIN SPORT already have two channels — English and Spanish-language broadcasts, as well as beIN SPORT Play, which is their online access (only available through a small number of TV providers at this time). I don’t see them adding a third channel.

      Cheers,
      The Gaffer

You are right about the online service, last I looked there were only two providers. I am glad they didn’t get the EPL. Non of there deals make any business sense at all.
