Cristiano Ronaldo Extends Real Madrid Contract to 2018, Says Report

Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo is set to extend his contract at the Spanish club to 2018, making him the highest paid footballer in Spain, according to a report today in Marca, the paper that’s often referred to as the “mouthpiece of Real Madrid.”

No official confirmation has been made by Real Madrid, but Marca reports the player will earn £14.7million a year, which equals £282,000 per week in wages.

The paper adds that the deal to extend his contract was completed in private one month ago.

Ronaldo and his teammates head to Miami tonight, where they’ll arrive at their hotel (Mandarin Oriental Hotel) at approximately 11pm ET. They’ll participate in a private training session on Tuesday evening at Barry University in preparation for their final against Chelsea in the International Champions Cup on Wednesday night.

That’s $22 million a year he’ll be earning. How can he be sad?
