Sling International FAQ: Streaming HD-Quality Soccer Games

During the past several weeks, we’ve received a lot of questions about Sling International, so instead of continuing to reply to each comment or e-mail individually, we thought it’d be more helpful to everyone to answer your questions in this public post.

First, the basics. What is Sling International (formerly known as DishWorld)?

Sling International is an online streaming service that broadcasts a variety of channels to your computer, tablet or smartphone. Whatever is being shown on the TV channel is the same thing you’ll see on Sling International. The Sling International service offers (depending on which package you sign up for) 100’s of channels.

For soccer fans, the Sports package is particularly beneficial, offering you live streaming of beIN SPORT, beIN SPORT Espanol and One World Sports, among other channels. With beIN SPORT and beIN SPORT Espanol on Sling International, you’ll have access to La Liga, Serie A, Ligue Un, Capital One Cup and leagues including the Championship and Russian Premier League. One World Sports offers Arsenal TV, Chelsea TV, Bayern Munich TV and the J-League.

For TV schedules of La Liga, Serie A, Ligue Un, the Championship and Russian Premier League, visit our soccer TV schedule page.

Is it legal?

Absolutely. It’s part of the same company as Dish Network. But note that you don’t need a subscription to Dish, the satellite TV network. And if you do subscribe to Dish, Sling International is not given for free to its satellite TV subscribers.

Is it available worldwide?

It’s only for US residents. But if you live outside the USA, you can get Sling TV. First, sign up for a free trial to Unblockus, a smart DNS service that allows you to change your IP address to the US. Then sign up for the free Sling Internatioanl trial.

How much does it cost?

Just $10/month. There’s no contract, and no commitment is required. It’s on a pay-as-you-go model. Sign up to Sling International for $10/month.

Who is Sling International best for?

If you’re a soccer fan who doesn’t have access to beIN SPORT via your TV provider, or you’re a cord cutter, Sling International is ideal for you. Or if you’re an Arsenal or Chelsea fan and you want to watch programs from your official club, Sling International’s streaming of One World Sports (that shows Arsenal TV and Chelsea TV) is perfect.

Does Sling International show beIN SPORT Play?

Not at this time. beIN SPORT Play is the online site where beIN SPORT sometimes shows overflow programming that it doesn’t have room to put on beIN SPORT or beIN SPORT Espanol. But Sling International does not provide you with access to the beIN SPORT Play service.

Do you have to subscribe to one of Sling International’s foreign-language services to get the Sports package?

No. Sling International does offer foreign-language programming (Arabic, Hindu, Chinese, etc), but you don’t need to subscribe to those services to get beIN SPORT, beIN SPORT Espanol and One World Sports. You can subscribe directly to the Sports package for $10/month.

Do I have to watch the games live on Sling International, or can I record them if I’m away from my computer/tablet/smartphone?

You can go back through the programming available on Sling International for the previous 8 days to watch any of the shows or games again. No recording is needed.

If you join a game in progress, you’ll be prompted with a selection to choose whether to watch the program from the beginning or to watch it live.

What devices is Sling International available on?

Sling International runs on PCs and Macs, as well as Roku, Android smartphones and tablets, and on iOS devices such as iPhones and iPads.

Does Sling International support Google Chromecast?

Not at this time.

What are the quality of the Sling International streams like?

beIN SPORT is a HD stream. The quality has been fantastic with no buffering. Read our Sling International product review for more information. A HD stream of One World Sports will be available in the future.

What if I have a question that isn’t answered above or in the Sling International product review

Is the Scottish Premier League covered by this package ?

    • Christopher Harris

      July 7, 2017 at 4:58 pm

The Scottish Premiership rights are up in the air right now. It appears that FOX Sports won’t be broadcasting the games next season, and it’s unknown right now who will have the rights.

Does Dishworld offer Channels like sports, and specifically PFC, etc be shown on a setting where the TV is setup in a PUBLIC PLACE? If Yes, what is the price structure?
Or can regular Subscription be shown on a TV in a Public Viewing area, without additional fees?
    Thanks

Hey Chris, On the Roku website it shows that dishworld streams EPL and Champions league games on BeIN Sports. And you say here that dishworld doesnt. Do you know any streaming service that has EPL and CL? I know NBC sports did it last season but you have to have a TV provider(cable package)

DishWorld offers Arsenal TV and Chelsea TV, which provide Premier League matches that are delayed by a few days. But that’s the closest thing you’ll get to EPL matches on a Roku at this time. Champions League matches are still available via FOX only, but FOX doesn’t make the games available to DishWorld or Roku.

The only way to legally get EPL games streamed is via the NBC Sports Live Extra app, which requires you to have a TV subscription.

DishWorld is awesome for La Liga, Serie A, Ligue Un, Championship, League Cup and other leagues.

How is the stream quality, and does it work with iPhone, and iPads?

Another question I have is, does it offer EPL, La LIga, and champions league?

    • Christopher Harris

      July 24, 2014 at 4:42 pm

Stream quality is excellent. HD. They offer La Liga, Ligue Un, Serie A and League Cup, but not Champions League or EPL.

Will the Brasilian Portuguese language channels have the World Cup games broadcast? Don’t some of them have World Cup broadcasting rights?

    • Christopher Harris

No. beIN SPORTS will have a daily World Cup show, but none of the Dishworld channels have the rights to the World Cup.

After listening to the podcast on Dishworld and reading about what is included (especially the free Roku LT!) this deal is a no-brainer for $10/mo ($40/4 mo if you choose the free Roku LT or 50% off a Roku 3).

If more TV-rights holders would provide on-line à la carte streaming packages, the landscape of TV would change for the better. Subscribing to services such as dishworld is hugely advantageous – sometimes even when you have a lower tier pay-tv package and don’t want to upgrade 2 or 3 tiers to get BeIN.

I appreciate that DishWorld is supporting World Soccer Talk and the continued creation of quality content. And I’m happy to support World soccer talk by signing up for Dishworld. For an avid soccer fan in the US, it’s a no-brainer if you can spare the $10/mo (10% less if you choose the annual plan!).

Awesome. My wife has been getting on me to get rid of directv to cut costs and this might be something that makes doing so easier. Thanks!

Dishworld is an excellent choice for us who cannot get beIN via cable – in my case Cox does not carry it. Spanish version of BeIN is not HD.

I don’t mind being advertised here, who cares. It solves a problem, that is it.

Works great in my Roku and my Nexus 7

      November 16, 2013 at 2:11 pm

Yeah i dont get people complaining that its advertisement….so what its not a 30 second ad popping up every time you come on the site asking you buy proactive or whatever, and are people really that clueless that they assume websites and companies can work without ads?

Is the repeated appearance of Dishworld basically advertising?

    • Christopher Harris

      November 16, 2013 at 12:12 pm

They’re one of our sponsors, yes.
