Struggling Swansea sack coach Bradley

Swansea (United Kingdom) (AFP) – Premier League strugglers Swansea City dismissed coach Bob Bradley on Tuesday after just 11 games in charge, the club announced on its website.

American Bradley replaced Francesco Guidolin in October but the Swans have won just twice following his appointment and lie second from bottom in the table.

“Swansea City can confirm that the club has parted company with manager Bob Bradley,” the Welsh side said in a statement.

He was only hired because of his nationality. Period. It’s worth noting that Jason Levien, one of Swansea’s main owners, also has a significant stake in DC United, and by extension, MLS and SUM.

As I said in another post, the jump from Stabaek to Swansea in a space of about two years can hardly be considered natural, as far as managerial jobs are concerned. Some dots simply connect themselves.

Not shocking he was fired and pretty Predictable, whats shocking is media members here throwing temper tantrums because he was fired. Why do some think he is a great coach? Forget him being American, does a rd of 16 WC and jobs in lower leagues with no trophies make a great coach? If so then theirs a lot of them, the way some of these people are going on you would think they had SAF and fired him. I think it shows the horrid state of U.S. coaching if almost making the WC with Egypt, tippelagaen and Ligue 2 makes a great American coach.

The same journos and talking heads spewing nonsense about Bradley being fired because of his nationality are the same ones who dismissed any notion whatsoever that his passport may have played a role in him being hired in the first place. It’s absolutely comical to me.

I don’t even totally blame Bradley for this either; it’s mostly the club’s fault for assigning the task of coming up with an immediate solution to a long-term crisis of their own making to a manager who couldn’t have been more ill-prepared to deal with that challenge. Won’t be long before they go the way of Fulham, Blackburn, Sheff United, or Leeds…

Coaching in different leagues did not improve Bradley’s understanding of the game. It was doomed from the start. Bruce Arena is the same since his last time he was the national team Coach and the only thing that has changed is the luxury of expensive internationalso at LA.

I’m guessing this kills the Matt Besler transfer 🙂

Not really surprising, It’s a big jump he took and nothing wrong with that, most U.S. coaches haven’t/couldn’t do what he has done but going from Norway and Ligue 2 to one of the top leagues and trying to keep a struggling club up is not an easy task and was probably out of his depth.

So Klinsmann or Arena now since those are probably the other two managers the U.S. owners know?

    Kidding……….
