What is the best domestic league in Europe?

Best domestic league Europe

Asking what the best domestic league in Europe is a fairly broad question. Different leagues have the best club, best fanbases, best title race, best European race or relegation battle.

So, which one do we mean? For all intents and purposes, yes. This question focuses on what you, the reader, perceive as the best domestic league in Europe. Considering all those factors, which league is the most enthralling from start to finish.

Now, the case can be made that no one league specializes in all those aforementioned factors. However, some certainly stand out against others. For example, in regards to the best clubs in one league, the Premier League has a pretty stark advantage over something like France’s Ligue 1. That being said, supporters in Germany are more vibrant and passionate than those in England. That is, at least, from top to bottom, on average.

Of course, if you support a certain club, chances are you reckon its domestic league is the best. This is particularly true of Premier League fans. the Seemingly unending drama associated with the league involves every team in some form of drama.

On a personal anecdote, that theory is not always true. I support Barcelona, and I watch each of the club’s games. Even then, I believe LaLiga is no where close to as entertaining or exciting as the Premier League each season.

What is the best domestic league in Europe?

Now, we want to know your opinion. Many of the readers and listeners here at World Soccer Talk seem to lean in favor of the Premier League. To be fair, it is the most popular European league over in the United States, and it is perhaps the easiest to watch with games regularly on TV instead of solely streaming.

Try to keep in mind all the factors mentioned previously, plus any others that may pop up in your deliberation.

    My top 5 leagues
    1. Premier league
    – Highest revenue in the league
    – Main language for the league is English which helps around the world
    – Competitive league
    – Physical pace
    – TV money split three different ways from domestically, internationally that all teams get the tv split equally from 1st to 20th and merit based performance during the season.

    2. Serie A
    – Used to be number 1 in the 80s-00s
    – It is now competitive and the most underrated league
    – Good for young players to develop
    – Physical and technical
    – more defense sound league

    3. La liga
    – Most overrated league in my opinion
    – I don’t watch because I expect Real Madrid and Barcelona to win the title every year at big margins
    – Technically sound league/tiki taka
    – Rivalries run deep (El Classico)
    – Champions league born winners

    4. Bundesliga
    – The league I really want to get into but can’t because Bayern Munich win every year at big margins but it is the most under appreciated league
    – If you like more goals then this league has the Best goal ratio in soccer matches is for you
    – Great attendances for their matches due to fan friendly middle class ticket purchases
    – Like that Bundesliga teams are fan owned from 50+1
    – Physical Pressing football

    5. Ligue 1
    – I don’t watch this league because PSG wins most of the time and it’s not my style
    – Best league for youth development since all the leagues come from players here
    – Counter attacking athletic brand of football
    – Fans in this league aren’t the best
    – Best home grown talent in this league

Premier league will be for me since I like the competition and it has been the most easily accessible since I was a kid but in the league but this league I will say has the worst refs. Knows how to market the league. This league isn’t the best though because it’s in England. It’s the best because it has the most international players in the league outside of England and even Europe. If that wasn’t the case this league wouldn’t be number 1.

Serie A will always be for me since the history behind it can’t be erased and I think this league is having a renaissance. It has everything you want in a football match.

La liga and ligue 1 I don’t watch and probably won’t ever.

Bundesliga if they ever had a fair way to keep the competition tight just the premier league, I can bet this league can give the premier league a run for their money. Like teams needs to stop selling their players to the top team like come on. Maybe also split the tv revenue equally. The fans will always support their teams big or small it doesn’t matter like Union Berlin for example the story behind them is incredible and teams in this league didn’t join that super league I think If i am not mistaken.

Really, a meaningless poll like the EPL predictions. Come on you can do better journalism then have fans write your columns. This question has been answered by the diehard fanboys before in various posts.

It’s a tough question to answer. Probably a better question would be which European league has the best top 4-6 teams bc after that, the leagues sort of meld together talent wise. That being said, I would probably go with premier league and then serie a at this point. La Liga has suffered from financial woes as their status was higher a few years ago.

The Premier League is the best because it has the most money so it can get the best players and investors can come into this league and compete. Serie A, the Championship and the Bundesliga are more fun but they lack the money to be the best
