I remember hearing Miles on the early days of FSW and would get so disgusted listening to his awful commentary of my beloved Ajax, and other Leagues the network was showing. He had absolutely no understanding of the sport, and would constantly mispronounce players names, mix up players all together, and just talk gibberish as he was truly out of his depth with regards to what was happening on the pitch. He was really horrible, and he would always lose his way with whatever was happening on the pitch, and have a propensity of using certain words or phrases to overcome his feeble knowledge of the sport.
Incredible to me that he stayed employed at FSW that’s how bad he was.
Quite the contrast compared to Max Bretos and Allen Hopkins who impressed me with their knowledge and understanding of the players, teams, and the passion they had for the game.

Is this in addition too or instead of the regular weekly podcast?

I never could figure out if Lionel Bievenu was being straight with his presentation or if it all was a joke.

He always seemed to enjoy any mention of the names “Nicky Butt” and “Dean Windass”

I remember watching the EPL highlights show on the regional Fox Sports Net back in the late 1990’s. Towards the end of the program, the host Lionel Bienvenu would turn over to Christian Miles to show highlights from Fox Sports World. It was called the FSW report. Great memories for sure.

It was great hearing from Christian Miles and talking about the old FSC. I found it surprising that the explosion of interest in the game did not mean better days for announcers like him. With all the MLS Teams you would think that would benefit broadcasters.

FSC and EPL Talk were at center stage for soccer fans back in those day. Both have a great part in the US being a soccer nation.
