EPL Review Show: World Soccer Talk Podcast

EPL Review Show

Kartik and Christopher head back to the future to do a special Premier League review podcast, giving their thoughts on all 10 games from the weekend.

Outside of the Premier League, we also discuss Bundesliga’s opening game of the season, what we’re looking forward to the most in 2023 with the Apple MLS media deal, as well as answering your questions about ESPN’s pecking order of soccer coverage.

During the frank conversations, we also touch upon NBC’s coverage of the Premier League from the opening season, what we thought of Peter Drury’s first weekend for the American broadcaster, which stadium we want to take a trip to in Europe, and what was the best team performance from this past weekend.

Launched in 2006, the World Soccer Talk Podcast is the longest running podcast on the planet. Every week, we share the latest news about watching soccer on television and streaming, in addition to discussing what we like and dislike, and featuring your questions and feedback in our Listener Mailbag segment.

    KK,

The Peacock app in Chromecast automatically goes to next match with a ten second alert.

Please no Amazon for UCL. Staying with CBS/Paramount+ nice for continuity (would effectively be 10.5 years with them) with a provider who’s proven they do a good job and fans already comfortable with it. Going for every last dollar not always the smartest, EPL was right to stick with NBC for that very reason.

If anyone is going to acquire the EFL tv rights, it will be NBC and Peacock. We need the EPL and EFL together in 1 place, just like how Paramount+ has the Italian package, and ESPN+ has the Spanish and German package. Fox will probably get the UCL because they already have a relationship with UEFA. It makes sense to have the Euro and UCL together in 1 place too.
