You guys really have it in for MLS it seems. just fox mentioning the league during other soccer program is propaganda, really? what did MLS do to you that you hate it so much?

I believe Chris was a Miami Fusion fan back in the day so when The Fusion lost it’s team because of poor ownership he turned against the league and has been on a anti MLS crusade ever since. It’s sorta like if the Crew hadn’t been saved and now a Columbus Crew Fan had a website and had inside info with people in soccer, and spent all their time every chance they could take jabs at MLS because they were upset at MLS. Well that scenario is real life here at WST.
As a footie fan I can understand his anguish losing his beloved team, but at some point you have to let the animosity go and be professional. This is why you see so much pettiness seep out when he talks MLS or people on this site report on MLS it’s his site so…. Countless people have told him about it on social media and on this site and they don’t or he won’t listen always makes a excuse for it and gets members of this site to downvote you along with EuroSnobs who visit this site because that will teach you.
I come for the info regardless because I love soccer but it needs to be addressed in a professional manner Christopher you can’t be a jaded lover forever.

Hah, Eddy. I love your storytelling. The truth is that I always speak my mind. I realize that what I’m saying is uncomfortable for you to hear but it’s my opinion. And despite your repeated attempts to push a pro MLS agenda, I’m not going to change what I believe or what I see. World Soccer Talk is focused on world soccer, so maybe the site isn’t a good fit for you. I’d recommend that you return to /r/MLS where your views will be more warmly accepted.

No sorry I won’t it’s a soccer community for all there are plenty of ways to discuss the matter you will always get called out for intellectual dishonesty fair is fair. I like MLS not denying nor will I be ashamed of my support. Its America and I have a right to disagree the site employee members can troll with DVs but I’ll keep posting my opinion. You can critique it’s when 99% of your statements are on sided their is no editorial balance as there always should be in reporting noticed you didn’t deny my story either. I would be mad too about my team but that’s long ago.
Fairness=critique and praise when merited.

So let me get this straight FOX promoting MLS during Champions League coverage was propaganda but NBC promoting EPL during NFL coverage is amazing, smart and forward thinking, You guys never seem to amaze me with your Anti-MLS bias (Mainly Christopher) losing all credibility intellectually dishonest.

Like I said on Twitter, that’s not what we said nor what we meant. The point was about how FOX was using a Champions League news segment to promote USSF presidential candidates who were aligned with USSF/SUM/MLS.

Great podcast this week. Think you both may be understating the impact a Super League would have on world football.
If it comes to fruition, all other competitions will cease to be viable financially.
The best comparison I can make is to NCAA basketball. You have your individual conferences (Serie A, La Liga, etc), the NCAA tournament (Champions League), and the NIT (Europa League). Image if the biggest teams in each conference decided to create their own super conference and year end tournament. The ACC without Duke, UNC and Big 10 without Michigan, Mich State, Indiana, and the PAC 12 without UCLA, and the SEC without Kentucky and so on.
The resulting conferences wouldn’t be attractive from a TV rights perspective and the NCAA tournament would also lose a lot of it’s luster if the biggest teams were no longer involved. While supporters of the remaining universities would still follow, it would not be enough support to remain viable as a commercial entity. In the end it would have more in common with Div II programs. The competition remains, but virtually no one is paying attention and all the top talent is elsewhere.
Really hope this Super League never happens. You mentioned the NFL model. Could also say Americanization. Slippery slope, next step after Super League could be clock stoppages to facilitate commercial breaks…
