The city I live in has no MLS nor USL team. Millions of us like that still. How can be be interested in pro soccer states side then? Its not for a lack of trying on my part though. I have kinda adopted Orlando City as my team since I visit Florida a ton and I like their stadium and colors and history. But I reside nowhere near them, nor any other pro team like I said before.

Interesting discussion as usual. Three thoughts:
    .
    * MLS find themselves in a strategic bind, a distant fifth in revenue among professional leagues in the US (NHL is estimated at around 4x MLS revenue). MLS previously sold a much higher aspiration. A move to 100% Apple TV+ may be part of an acknowledgement that MLS’ aspirations need to be lowered. A mature business should be cold-bloodedly realistic, but that has to sting emotionally. I am enjoying your articles and podcasts on this topic.
    .
    * I either did not understand or totally disagree with Kartik’s response to the listener feedback. I doubt FOX has the contractual right to sell, or otherwise transfer, NFL to a third party. Quite the opposite, I would hazard FOX is under an SLA to broadcast X games per year each on at least Y affiliates that reach at least Z% of the US population OTA. The NFL publicly states OTA is a cornerstone of its popularity and success.
    .
    * A broader question is what do you specifically mean by “is FOX Sports for sale?” I could see them selling FS2, similar to how NBCSN was shuttered. I could see FOX declining to bid as rights expire, reducing their role in soccer or sports over time. I am not sure FOX can just put “sports” or “soccer” for sale. Maybe FOX negotiated very generous contracts that allow them to resell rights without first obtaining permission, but I would be surprised.
