Seamus Malin interview

From the archives, here’s our Seamus Malin interview with the legendary soccer broadcaster who has worked with ABC, NBC, CBS, ESPN and many other networks on US television.

During episode 14 of the EPL Talk Podcast (now better known as the World Soccer Talk Podcast), our Seamus Malin interview gives you an in-depth account of how much the coverage of soccer on US television has changed over the years.

Born in Dublin, Malin shares his memories of the 1966 World Cup Final, discusses his passion for his favorite Premier League side (Aston Villa), talks about ABC/ESPN’s coverage of the 2006 World Cup, his days commentating with the New York Cosmos, as well as his opinions about the USA World Cup teams from the past.

Malin is a graduate of Harvard University. In 2005, he was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame as a media representative.

Born September 3, 1940 in Dublin, Ireland, Malin is an Irish former journalist for ESPN. Malin most often commentated on soccer events, such as the UEFA Champions League and World Cup.

He also worked with the NASL’s Boston Minutemen and New York Cosmos.
