9 minutes into the interview “We did tons of research, we know what our audience wants.”. 10 minutes in… “on Thanksgiving, we have 3 Spanish-speaking teams – Uruguay, Brazil and Portugal.” LOL, So funny. No, just one.

More great content, I enjoyed this interview. I expect to watch a lot of Telemundo in November and December. The combination of draw, schedule, and FOX’ decisions look about as good as Telemundo could have hoped for. A few reactions:

* The two-hundred percenters idea resonates. Seb in a previous podcast noted a preference for English among much of the US Hispanic audience. The data I have seen supports Ray’s perspective, but perhaps there is other data or additional layers of segmentation behind Seb’s claim. I would be interested to learn more.

* I support Telemundo being measured in discussing human rights. It is important not to whitewash, especially migrant worker deaths in World Cup stadium building. Deferring the more strident opinion pieces to NBC News and Noticias Telemundo strikes me as a decent balance. Being a gracious guest is not an endorsement of everything about the host entity.

* Just venting, but I hope they agree a deal with fubo Latino. I get Telemundo OTA (also through my English bundle) and skip Universo, but it is weird how fubo and NBC handle it.

Haven’t heard it yet, but did you ask him about HD availability? Unbelievable if we go another WC with no national HD. The streaming apps (The NBC, Telemundo, USA apps where you can get the linear signal and not have to change between streams of each single match) are not stable at all.

My OTA Telemundo here is also 480i, which makes it unwatchable.
