@Peterwohelski I agree. ESPN+ is dropping the ball on the Bundesliga because of LaLiga. They are committing too many resource and $s to make it successful. And now, with hardly any stars left in LaLiga, it seems like they are doubling-down. They pushed it so much with ESPN+ that I lost my interest in LaLiga altogether.

What happened to ESPN+’s Bundesliga coverage this season? They had a couple games the first two weeks of the season but now that the first division fixtures are in progress, there’s not been a match since! What about fans of Schalke, Werder Bremen, HSV and other big German clubs who are battling to come back up….

I can only speak to the reason why I still have cable — I have an older person living in my home for whom trying to navigate all of the streaming stuff is just way, way too much. I don’t have the bandwidth (no pun intended) to play tech support 24/7, so the convenience of having everything in one place is worth it to my sanity.
Although the Premier League is his least favorite mega-league, that’s what he ends up watching most of the time, unless I’m around to put on a Serie A match for him.

@Rick G Do yourself a big favor and get rid of cable TV altogether. I did that all the way back in 2009. Even now I have a personal rule to only pay for one streaming service at a time. From 2010-2019 it was Netflix. Dumbed that in 2019 for the Disney+/E+/Hulu combo.

Granted Espn+ does not have everything like Champions league, there is enough to fill out the limited time we have in our days.

The ship has sailed. The world (especially the US) has shifted how they consume material. More and more Sports, Movies, TV etc are going digital. Even the EPL is going more digital. Why waste all that money on Cable?

We live in digital world all games are available through streaming aka ESPN plus. On TV at best you will get 2-3 games a week. Also paying for P+, ESPN +, peacock, cost like 15$ month, You can also add being to get ligue1 and copa libertadores for another8$ you get pretty much every game vs paying 65$ month on TV to get like few games. I don’t get this obsession with cable. Cable model business is outdated and slowly dying. Streaming is like 5 times cheaper has on demand options and no commercials. Why are you still stuck with cable?

Just get ESPN+. You are probably already spending 2x the amount with the compulsory RSN and OTA broadcast fees. If it was your provider, they wouldn’t think twice. They ‘d just get it and charge you twice under the pretence of some legalese fee.

Like last season, ESPN has removed Bundesliga games from television. The first live sport that was available during the pandemic, due to Fox Sports having the rights, is gone again. I can’t wait until ESPN’s contract runs out and hopefully the Bundesliga won’t renew let them reduce the size of their audience in the U.S. again.
