Argentine Primera División games in Spanish now available via Paramount+

Argentine Primera División games in Spanish

Subscribers to Paramount+ now have the option of watching their favorite Argentine Primera División games in Spanish or English.

Previously, all of the Argentine Primera División games were available on Paramount+ with English-language commentary. However, effective immediately, fans will get to choose between Spanish or English for most of the matches.

Those games may include River Plate, Boca Juniors, Independiente, Racing Club, San Lorenzo or any of the other well known teams from Argentina.

To toggle between English-language or Spanish-language commentary, click on the ‘Subtitles’ icon in the top corner. You will then see an option to select between English or Spanish.

Currently, Spanish-language commentaries are available via select live games only. It appears that the functionality for Argentine Primera División games in Spanish isn’t yet available for games when viewed on-demand.

As we’ve seen in recent months, Paramount+ has been making enhancements to the viewing experience. That includes UCL Multicast. Plus, Paramount+ subscribers will see a new ‘Sports’ section on the Apple TV device.

PrendeTV is advertising that they will have exclusivity for the Clasico. Probably means not on Fanatiz and no SAP avail on Paramount+. I think the TyC signal should still show it.

Seems Fanatiz kept the rights to the el Clasico

I cancelled my subscription to Fanatiz (as with PrendeTV now gives access to the Colombian league for free) –

Fanatiz sent this week an email promoting the clasico and giving a 50% off the first month to resubscribe (code superclasicofz22 ).

Clasico is in the program guide on Fanatiz.

Great news. That’s 4 networks (including TyC Sports) showing matches in spanish. Highly unusual, no? Glad to see tho. Fanatiz is losing leverage to Vix and now P+.

I think it is highly unusual for four networks to offer the same league and with every network getting their own streaming service, I hope there is a lot more of this. I think this is a win for us customers and fans of the Argentine League.

TyC has a separate audio feed. Paramount is likely using the Argentina Play feed that is on Fanatiz and Prende (Fanatiz has both the TyC and the Argentina play feeds). Not clear if the Argentine league is licensing the AFA Play feed non exclusively or if Fanatiz has the rights and has sublicensed it to Prende (and I assume Vix when it starts) and Paramount.
