let’s talk about Mark Schwarzer’s putrid performance against Blackburn eh?
This is a guy that was rabidly fought over by arsenal and fulham, he gets fully fit and replaces a really really awesome looking stockdale only to grow butterfingers, noodle arms and degenerating eyesight to the point where he doesn’t quite know where his box ends anymore…
really? this is the guy everyone was fussing over?

Usually you mention the MOTD analysis, so I’ll bring it up here. I was wondering what you thought about Mark Lawrenson’s comments about Arsenal. His question seemed to be “is Arsenal physical enough to win the title?” I actually think it is very easy to question a club’s pedigree this early in the season, especially a team like Arsenal who had a knack for dropping points against inferior opponents last season.
My take is that Arsenal, despite the missed penalty and some of Arshavin’s missed opportunities, were in control of the match throughout. I thought they created good chances and, in contrast to last season, actually looked very assured defensively. I thought they were unlucky not to come away with the win.

How bad is Fabregas’ injury. Will he be out of next week’s lineup and what are the implications if he is?
Also, Who can stop Chelsea? Arsenal? ManU?
How bad is the financial situation at Liverpool? Some are already calling them the next Leeds United. Is this a fair comparison? What are the similarities and differences?

When will Mr Wenger realise that it is a minimum of 4 minutes. Did he conveniently forget Chamakh went down injured during stoppage time, plus time wasted on throw Ins and that the goal was scored 4 minutes 20 into injury time. Great podcast by the way and what a goal by Berbatov!

Can anyone argue that Chelsea is not going to be touched by anyone this season for the title. It appears to me that they are playing at half speed so far this season and beating teams badly.
Second part of the question is given the few top teams that now year after year dominate their respective national leagues is it truly time for a European Super League or why care much about anything but the Champions league?

Chelsea look awesome so far but probably the best sides that they’ve seen are a struggling Stoke and Zilina. Further, injuries to any of Essien, Drogba, or Cech could seriously derail their chances even if they are the best team.

1. At what point of the season will the table not “lie” anymore because 5 games into the season is still too early to determine who is for real. For instance is Everton really going to be in a relegation scrap? I can’t see that happening.

The PL table is actually more truthful than I’d expect this early. The first 5 spots are the clubs that you’d expect with 2 & 3 being able to go either way and 4 and 5 able to go either way. Newcastle will probably drop off 4 to 8 places. You’d expect Fulham, Villa, Sunderland, and Bolton to be in the middle of the probably not going to go to Europe not worried about relegation. Birmingham and Blackburn are 13th 14th type sides. Wolves and Wigan on the relegation bubble. West Ham relegated in last place. Really only big surprises are Blackpool and WBA and Stoke, Everton, and Liverpool which will likely flip flop places
