Enter fuboTV into the ring as the latest streaming service provider to offer broadcasts of games to soccer fans with the acquisition of the exclusive live streaming rights to the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers to be streamed to viewers in the United States.
Prior to today’s announcement, the earlier rounds of CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers were only available via pay-per-view.
The agreement, a partnership with the 10 South American teams’ rights holders, strengthens fuboTV’s leading position as a sports-first live TV streaming platform and its offering of matches from the global Qatar World Cup 2022 Qualifiers. The top four teams competing within CONMEBOL, one of FIFA’s six continental confederations, qualify for Qatar. In addition to CONMEBOL, fuboTV will stream many qualifying matches through its carriage of other channel partners.

Through the new partnership, fuboTV has acquired the following rights:
• Exclusive OTT live streaming rights only for the remaining 70 matches, including Qatar World Cup 2022 Qualifiers. Match windows are currently scheduled to begin in June with several additional match windows through 2021 and into early 2022.
• Re-air and highlight rights
• Matches featuring both English and Spanish commentary
To bolster its Qatar World Cup 2022 Qualifiers coverage, fuboTV will produce original programming, including pre, half-time and post match shows, to air throughout the season. Specific details on programming, including how consumers can stream all South American qualifying matches with fuboTV, and on-air talent will be announced.

CONMEBOL’s schedule of games is still being finalized and is subject to change.
Today’s development is an important step for fuboTV (free 7-day trial) in their development as a streaming provider. World Soccer Talk understands that in the past several weeks, they’ve been assembling a team at fuboTV to acquire rights directly from leagues and confederations, so don’t be surprised if more soccer rights head to fuboTV in the near future.
Previously, fuboTV acquired rights to the Russian Premier League for a short period last year.
For commercial establishments such as bars, pubs and restaurants, pay-per-view will be available through traditional pay-per-view methods such as DirecTV, DISH Network and iNDemand.
For residential cable and satellite subscribers, the games will be available on PPV just like the previous rounds. Commercial establishments can acquire rights via Integrated Sports Media as well.

Yes, you should be able to watch all of them on fuboTV. But they haven’t announced their schedule of which games will be on what channels. We should find out in the next couple of weeks.

They could, but with Fubo having replay rights and probably wanting to keep them what else would be in it for BeIN. If they’ve kept the rights show the matches delayed in traditional cable/satellite, they would have to differentiate the streaming signal from the linear channel signal. Seems like too much of a hassle.

I dropped FuboTV for a month but came right back for TUDN coverage of LigaMX in English. So this is great news!!! I would not be surprise if beIN continue the producing of these matches.

So looks like BeIN is out of the equation as far as producing and showing them delayed. Curious to see who they will get to call the games. I think the matches come with the home team feed available, but that’s not practical for a broadcast here in the states. They promote that channel’s programming and they heavily favor the home team in commentary.

It’s all relative. When I had DirecTV I was paying almost $150 a month to get my sports. With Fubo TV and Disney Bundle paying less that $80 for even more sports that I had with DirectTV, and I have all of the “non-sports” and Disney Channels for my kids that I had before for 70 dollars less. With FuboTV I can get every UCL and UEL game on TUDN live and get the the games in English the next day on CBSSN along with the same after shows that are on Paramount+ and since I don’t follow Serie A, I don’t even need to purchase Paramount+. I understand that people like to vent, and I totally get it….but I have friends stationed in Germany and UK that have to pay a ton more money to watch their sports that we do here in the states. Everything is all relative. This announcement is a good deal.

Again totally agree with your assessment and here is my reason why. FuboTV is a Virtual Multichannel Video Programming Distributors (vMVPDs) which means to attract customers/subscribers they have to pay big bucks to the content providers.
To reason on this. Does FuboTV’s digital service offer content similar to how cable and broadcast do? Yes? mMVPDs are “looking more like their predecessors, albeit with better interfaces/features and the ability for consumers to cancel at any time.”
However, price increases necessitated by the need to pay for expensive programming bundles from media conglomerates are already undermining vMVPDs’ primary advantage over pay TV, and threatening to further narrow the platforms’ already extremely thin margins.
That is why FuboTV has to charge $65 per month and expect it to rise further, not for me also.

65 bucks a month hmm hard pass for me. I’ll be just fine with my Hulu/disney/espn bundle and paramount+ subscriptions.
It’s nice to see it not be on PPV but this is not the best option in my opinion for soccer fans.
I stream everything now and I have zero need or want for the bloated Live services that are out here. Yes this is me just complaining but after all that has been said on the message board about CBS putting their games behind a paywall this right here is so much worse.
If Fubo had stuck to just sports (mostly soccer) then I would have a much different attitude towards this. However Fubo is no better than HuluLive, Sling, ATTNow and YTTV.
