What is espn thinking putting twitman on this match? Maybe they get some sort of revenue from bbc radio 5, feel sorry for those that are stuck listening to twitman’s rubbish. here’s an idea from espn, loan out twitman to fox sports so he can do the concacrap’s tournament, like those big games involving powerhouse’s of football haiti and T&T….

Twellman!!!! Ahhhhh I thought we’d heard the last of him. So annoying, I was looking forward to a quieter commentator who doesn’t talk more than the main commentator but I guess ESPN want more of a US style, horrible

Can I watch the euro final on fubo? Don’t really want sling as have cable and neither hulu or peacock look like they have the final playing. If so is it in English?

Yes, Euro final is on fuboTV in English. Match starts at 3PM ET.

The game is live on ESPN at 3PM ET. Sounds like ESPN2 may be showing the game later as a re-air

Why is ESPN2 showing that the game will be televised at 5.00 pm?

Seriously??. Why break up the Darke/Robson partnership that has been the best in the tournament. You also have Derek Rae, Jon Champion or Efan Ekoku who are much better than Twellman especially with England in the Final.

Twellman? What’s wrong with ESPN?
Eric T
July 8, 2021 at 2:28 pm
@locofooty Ian Darke and Taylor Twellman
Kinda pissed about that decision. Nothing against Twellman but why break the Darke/Robson partnership for no reason?

July 7, 2021 at 6:13 pm
Family reasons keep me out of WiFi or TV range for the final, 7-11-2021 (3 pm EST). So, I want to watch this on ESPN+ On Demand as Bobb described. I signed up for ESPN+ on my laptop but can I just log into ESPN+ on my smart TV (running on Amazon Fire TV box), no. But, then if I understand Bobb correctly I may get a crappy multi-angle feed. Any suggestions on how to avoid that crappy feed.

Sign up for a free 7-day trial to fuboTV or Sling TV and then record the game with the built-in DVR, and watch it later.

espn+ on demand is top class. Spoiler free (if you avoid looking at the time length of the video), easy to find, UI simple, allows FFWD/RW in 10 sec increments. But you’ll need access to other espn channels to see anything but a crappy multi-angle feed for the Euros. I have access via cable, w/o that you’ll need some other service. Unless you’re cool with second-class, horrible multi-camera feeds.

what is the best way to watch matches once they have aired. my husband has espn+ but is working when most matches air live.

Best way would be to sign up for a free 7-day trial to fuboTV or Sling Orange, and then you can watch the games via there. And you can also schedule them to record so your husband can watch them on the fuboTV DVR or Sling DVR later.

If anyone is looking for Switzerland-Spain (02-JUL) in Spanish, it is on Univision rather than Prende. The mid-afternoon game (Belgium-Italy) will be on Prende.

ESPN should be ashamed of its low broadcasting standards for soccer! Commentators are too often inaudible because there is no barrier buffering out the stadium noise. ESPN fails audio standards by not providing commentators with noise cancelling microphones as they in its other broadcasts. ESPN could grow soccer viewership & thereby ad revenue f it respected viewers more.
I’ll refrain from criticizing commentators skills (or lack there of). Soccer commentators should be required to listen to ESPN’s other skilled, knowledgeable & entertaining commentators to boost their chops.

I watched or tried to watch one game on ESPN+ and it is a joke. They show 3 screens two are of the two coaches on the sideline and the game is shown with one view from an above camera. That screen is so small that the players look like ants running around and you can’t even see the ball. This is bad enough to make me want to cancel my ESPN+ subscription. And I will do that if they show the upcoming BUndesliga games with the same mode. I was able to watch the Euro games on Sling Orange though.

Who is the idiot doing inane color commentating on ESPN for the Russian/Denmark. His British partner is great but the other guy is terrible. What options are there to change broadcast?

I also dropped the disappointing ESPN+ feed after a few minutes. I’ve gone with Vidgo for $10 and I’ll cancel right after the final. To compensate for the generally awful commentators on ESPN, I’ve been streaming TalkSport for free. Though the guys on ESPN for the tragic Denmark-Finland match did a great job.

What is the best way to watch Euro 2020 in the US, on the west coast? Is ESPN only enough?
And one more question, please. What is the best way of getting ESPN streaming on a laptop if I do not have a cable?
thank you.

Thank you for the suggestion about Prende. I downloaded the app this morning and it has so far been easy to use, free, and does not require a login. The Euro 2020 button makes finding the En Vivo game easy. It looks like Prende will stream every Euro match that is not on Univision.
I watched Belgium-Russia using ABC OTA on TV and Prende on an old iPad. Prende’s coverage was of the good caliber I associate with Univision. Streaming lagged OTA by 30-35 seconds as usual. While I am neither a videophile nor an audiophile, the picture and sound of Prende on the iPad easily met my needs. I did not see DVR or on-demand for Euro on Prende (plenty of on-demand movies and TV) but I only watch live sports so I did not search hard for either.
I have access to ESPN/2 through cable. If I were not already paying for that, the mix of Prende, Univision OTA, and ABC OTA would be fine for watching the tournament live at no cost. I enjoy listening to soccer in Spanish, so Prende will be a “go to” for me over the next month.

Dropped ESPN+ five minutes into the opening match. The tri-camera feed is utter BS. TookChristopher’s advice and got sling orange. First month $10. All you need for Euro 2020.

Any info on if Univision or ESPN plan to tap into 4k UHD technology for their coverage. Possibly ESPN+ may stream in 4k? Any thoughts?

I am in the US and looking for a way to get all the Euro 2020 and Copa America matches. I am thinking Sling Blue/Orange + Sports Extra package, and my antenna for ABC should do the trick:
-EURO 2020-
ESPN (Sling Orange)
ESPN2 (Sling Orange)
ESPN3 (Sling Orange)
ABC (Local station, I have an antenna + DVR)
-Copa America-
FOX (Sling Blue)
FS1 (Sling Blue)
FS2 (Sling Blue Sport Extra package)
Do I actually need ESPN+ if I have all of the above?
Christopher Harris
June 2, 2021 at 8:16 pm
Sling Orange + Blue will do the trick. No need for ESPN+. And your antenna for ABC will get those games.

Oh I see, so it’s not really broadcasting the match?
Christopher Harris
June 1, 2021 at 4:53 pm
It is, but not the normal match broadcast that we’re used to seeing. If you’ve seen the tactical cams that FOX Sports and NBC Sports have used in the past, that’s what we’re envisioning it’ll look like.
Chris
June 1, 2021 at 2:39 pm
According to an ESPN press release, “ESPN+ will livestream all 51 matches via a second-screen experience with three different feeds – an aerial cam (tactical cam) and two additional feeds that provide fans with a combination of player and manager Iso-Cams, as well as audio from ESPN’s match commentators.”
So does this mean ESPN+ is good enough to watch the whole tournament? I can’t get a definitive answer on this.
Christopher Harris
June 1, 2021 at 2:50 pm
It depends what your level of “good enough” is. It won’t be the complete, normal match experience. It’s meant to be a supplemental second-screen experience that you would have on to augment your viewing. But some fans could get away with the ESPN+ experience to watch the tournament if they can’t afford the ESPN and ESPN2 options.

“ESPN+ will simulcast both the Semifinals & The Final per their press release”
So a month of Sling Orange (June 11~July 10) and then ESPN+ for a month to get the final. $41.00 +tax for the full monty.
