fuboTV to add NBC and FOX channels in game changing deal for soccer fans in US

fuboTV today announced a game changing deal for soccer fans in the United States with the news that they’ll be adding networks from NBC, FOX Sports and Telemundo in addition to entertainment and sport channels from NBA TV, The Big Ten Network and A&E.

The announcement today is a game changing deal because (1) it’s the most comprehensive package of soccer-related games and coverage out of all of the competing streaming companies, (2) the pricing is very competitive and (3) it gives most soccer fans everything they need to be able to cut the cord from cable or satellite and watch all of the programming they want.

Beginning in the coming weeks with a Beta launch of the service, new fuboTV subscribers will have access to networks that hold the rights to the world’s most popular sports at an introductory, discounted rate of $34.99 per month. fuboTV users in the U.S. will soon have the ability to watch live events from all of the major American professional and college sports, as well as international leagues and tournaments – including live baseball, basketball, boxing, cricket, cycling, football, golf, hockey, horse racing, mixed martial arts, motorsports, professional wrestling, rugby, tennis – with an expanding line-up of more soccer than any streaming service. Additionally, a full array of live and video on demand (VOD) entertainment programming from the new networks will also be available to subscribers.

One of the TV Everywhere apps will be the NBC Sports App, which will be available via fuboTV at a future date. In the meantime, fuboTV offers beIN SPORTS Connect, which unlocks a ton of soccer games not available on TV.

The agreements that fuboTV has signed with NBC, FOX, A&E and other networks will position fuboTV as the leading provider of soccer matches to viewers in the United States. No cable or satellite TV subscription is required, so the introductory price of $34.99 per month is extremely competitive.

The only glaring omission from fuboTV is ESPN. But given that ESPN has limited offerings for soccer fans plus the fact that ESPN is very restrictive when working with streaming providers (not allowing pausing or rewinding of content, in many cases), the ESPN omission isn’t a significant loss, to be frank.

In comparison, Sling Blue and Sling Orange is $45/month for FOX and ESPN networks, while PlayStation Vue’s Core Slim package is $34.99/month and includes beIN SPORTS (but not beIN SPORTS en Español), NBCSN, FS1, FS2 but no regional FOX affiliates. FOX Soccer Plus is not included with PlayStation Vue but can be added for an additional price of $14.99/month. DirecTVNOW, meanwhile, doesn’t offer beIN SPORTS or beIN SPORTS en Español, and its pricing (for soccer fans who want similar channels) is more expensive than fuboTV, Sling TV and PlayStation Vue.
