The NBC commentators for gameweek five in the Premier League are now known.
This week, there are a number of notable games and opportunities for teams to build on their starts to the season. Notably, there are three games between teams in the top-half of the table in this young season.
Starting off, there is a Friday afternoon game between Newcastle and Leeds. Both teams are winless this season, sitting on one and two points, respectively. An hour-long Premier League Live pregame show precedes the game, hosted by Ahmed Fareed and Tim Howard and Robbie Mustoe. Then, Goal Zone follows the contest.
On Saturday, there are six games on the schedule. Premier League Mornings gets the day started at 7 a.m. ET before Wolves hosts Brentford.
Four games come during the 10 a.m. window, then Aston Villa and Everton cap off Saturday’s action. The NBC commentators for that game are Arlo White and Lee Dixon.
Sunday features the three main games of the week. A two-hour Premier League Mornings at 7 a.m. gets you set for the games. At 9 a.m., Brighton hosts Leicester. This season, Brighton sits on nine points, only dropping points in a loss at Everton.
Manchester United looks to bounce back from their brutal defeat against Young Boys in the Champions League at 9 a.m. However, their opponent is no easy task. A road game against West Ham, which is at eight points this season, is up next for Cristiano Ronaldo and the Red Devils.
At 11:30, the best game of the week comes from London. A rivalry game between Tottenham and Chelsea spells a contest of two teams with high aspirations this season. Tottenham (nine points) hosts the Blues (10 points) in an early-season game with both teams looking for a crucial three points.
NBC commentators schedule, gameweek five
For NBC’s studio shows, Rebecca Lowe hosts this weekend’s Premier League Mornings, Premier League Live and Goal Zone. Alongside Lowe are Tim Howard and Robbie Mustoe.
In terms of the NBC commentators this week, the schedule below lays out where and when to watch each game.
Friday, Sep. 17

I sure enjoy Lee Dixon’s contributions. Good insights from a former player and he’s a good broadcaster, unlike some former players (Kevin McKenna and many others).

Comcast is putting a Monster Truck Jam and Lucas Oil Motor Sports highlights shows on NBCSN instead of arguably the biggest match of the week. While the bid process is starting.
Peacock en Español no bueno

Comcast/NBC’s lame attempt at “Peacock en Español” has essentially FAILED.
Spanish speakers in the US found out about a Spanish-language all-sports video “stream” with EPL, originating from server farms in “First Nations” reserves in Canada (where Canadian Federal authorities CANNOT enter with prior permission due to terms of treaties), which is only licensed
legally to “the mouse house” for viewing 9 countries in South America, complete with a gimmick “Relator” (play-by-play commentator) who sings after each goal, several months before Comcast/NBC/Telemundo attempted to salvage the situation by offering EPL on “Peacock en Español”.
Spanish speakers in the US who wanted to watch EPL en Español weren’t going to pay for Peacock. Not now. Not ever.

For crappy Comcast to essentially block the match from being shown in Telemundo because some English speakers might tune into it instead of paying for Peacock, there’s gotta be something to it though. It’s not like Peacock is full of Spanish programming or that they’re even putting in the effort to attract those customers. They tried it for the CONCACAF WCQ and gave up on that for the last FIFA break eventually putting all matches available through the Telemundo app. It makes you wonder. And lol at commentary, I have archives of classic matches in different languages, it’s all about the beautiful game and what happens on the pitch.

@locofooty. I’d rather pay then to watch a premier league match that is not in my language. I find that consideration is for those quite frankly and respectfully desperate to save every dollar they can or is on the strictest of budgets (in which I respect that).

NBCSN is technically behind a paywall. Unless the thing is on OTA and you get it via an antenna, you’re paying for it somehow. And I may be wrong but it’s actually cheaper to get Peacock on its own than pay for a service like Sling, Fubo, etc that has NBCSN.
